Goode Water Ski NationalsThe tournament schedule for the 2009 GOODE Water Ski National Championships, presented by Speedo, is now available. The 67th annual event, the world's largest three-event water ski tournament, will take place August 11-15 in West Palm Beach, FL.

More than 800 of the nation's top water ski athletes from across the United States will compete for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall, in respective age divisions and two Open divisions. Advancement to the national championships is earned through placement on the national rankings' list for respective divisions.

Big Dawg There will be two SNBD Qualifiers; one in Lousiana and one in Michigan. The Ski Nautique Big Dawg Finals will be held the week of Aug 10th (the week of the Nationals), in West Palm Beach at Okeeheelee Park, the site of the 2009 National water ski champioinships. THE BIG DAWG CHAMPION will be determined at Okeeheelee Park during the HEAD TO HEAD FINALS, Every water ski enthusiast and competitor in the world, will either be there on the shoreline, or will be viewing the live web cast. We are extremely excited about this new venue, and are confident it will attract huge numbers of spectators and viewers.

The Moomba Masters is a premier water ski event hosted by the Victorian Water Ski Association (VSWA) on the Yarra River on the Melbourne long weekend in March, as part of the Moomba Waterfest activities.

April Coble is on the A1!  In an effort to produce the best women’s ski equipment HO Skis and Syndicate have enlisted the expertise of April.  April Coble In the A1Her resume says it all and her passion for helping athletes improve their abilities behind the boat make her a perfect fit for the team.  April owns her own waterski and wakeboard school in North Carolina where she’ll have a fleet of A1s and the new women’s specific Couture ski.

For the second installment of the BallOfSpray interview series, Terry Winter let us ask him some questions about his return to D3, West Coast style, pro skiing and MB’s hair.  



Ellie Horton is three event and third generation competitive water skier. She grew up skiing at Horton Lakes, which was built by her grandfather Dr Jack Horton, and began competing when she was ten years old.

Currently, Ellie is a second year student at Florida Southern College. She is studying journalism and skis on scholarship for the FSC water ski team. is ranked 3rd overall in the nation, 9th in the U21 overall world standings, and has her open women’s rating in overall.

She is a member of the D3 water skis Factory Team and is sponsored by CAMARO wetsuits and NewCity Clothing.

Her recent successes have included winning Division I women’s tricks at the 2013 collegiate nationals as well as taking the tricks and overall title at the U21 2014 Pan Am Championships.
