     Share

Centurion Boats, manufacturer of the relentlessly innovated World
Championship Towboats like the Carbon Pro ski boat, adds a difference-maker to the Pro Team. Alex Lauretano may have grown up in Connecticut with frozen winters, but that didn't stop her from competing on the Pro circuit worldwide at the age of 18. It is that dedication that has pushed her to professional three-event podiums and it is that same dedication that first caught the attention of Centurion Boats. The drive that Alex exhibits in her training and her representation of professional water skiing is nothing short of amazing and Centurion was proud to offer her a place on the factory pro team for these traits in addition to her skiing talent.

Aside from focusing on her own training and career Alex Lauretano reaches out in many other ways to advance the sport of water skiing and women in professional sports. Alex is a charter member of GTF (Girls That Fly) an organization of the top women water ski jumpers in the world. GTF highlights and promotes worldwide jump events for women and to establish parity for women in areas such as prize money, publicity and event equality. It is Alex’s goal not only to be a top pro water ski athlete, but to also be a spokesperson for the sport of waterskiing at all levels. This integrity and passion makes Alex a great fit for the Centurion Boats Team.

Growing up on a lake in Connecticut Alex had a love for waterskiing at a very young age, being only 3 years old when she started skiing. Dealing with frozen winters it made it very difficult for her to train and compete, so at the age of 16 Alex moved to Central Florida where she would train and finish High School. Two years later she was completing in pro events worldwide and has continued to grow her career ever since.

Last year Alex broke a 10 year old National record jumping 184 feet! Now skiing behind a Centurion Carbon Pro, Alex gets to do what she loves every day and traveling the world at the same time.

When asked about this addition to the team, Amy Mauzy, Marketing Director for Centurion Boats, responded this way. “Alex is one of those people who could spearhead a movement all by herself.” Mauzy continued, “In addition to her incredible water skiing skills, it’s Alex’s determination that is the most impressive. We are so excited to have her on the Centurion Boats team!”

When Alex was asked about choosing Centurion Boats, she had this to say. “With the waterski boat market focusing more and more on the slalom event, I was looking for a true three event boat with a good performance in all three events. As a true three-eventer, Centurion makes no compromises in any discipline which makes my practice a lot more productive”

Alex credits her success to so many people that have helped her throughout the years, the list would go on forever. But wanted to make sure to give a shout out to Adam Sedlmajer for being an awesome training partner, her parents for always being supportive and of course her sponsors.

Centurion Boats harnessed the same type of dedication that has catapulted athletes like Alex Lauretano to professional three-event skiing to create the ambitious design of the Carbon Pro. The inspired craftsmanship of Carbon Transfer Construction yields an incredibly lightweight boat and low-impact hull that displaces less water. Minimal water displacement creates a soft, flat wake with no spray for the best possible skier experience. That space-age foundation is complimented by a host of industry-leading innovations. From the precise pulls delivered by Carbon Pro’s Gun Sight to the never-stop-training convenience of the counterbalance tank, which lets you enjoy tournament-quality sets even when it’s just you and a driver. This award winning machine is a no-compromise three-event training tool that gives a distinct advantage to pros like Alex as well as those who aspire to be at the World-class level. The Centurion Carbon Pro is a World Championship Towboat, relentlessly innovated.
