     Share

The third stop on the 2016 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour will be at Little Mountain Lakes in Maiden on July 16-17, marking the first time the series has been in North Carolina.

The series featuring male slalom skiers age 35 and older has gained popularity as legends of the sport such as Jeff Rodgers and the late Andy Mapple joined top amateurs in heated competitions at 34 mph.

A maximum of 45 skiers will be accepted at Little Mountain. Entry fee is $200 and competition will begin early July 16 with two rounds of qualifying, followed by an on-site banquet at the end of the ski day.

The top 16 qualifiers will advance to the Sunday head-to-head bracketed final.

Practice will be available Friday afternoon, July 15 for $10 per four passes.

Race City Marine of Mooresville is the area Nautique dealer supporting the tournament.

For more information, contact tournament director Jeff Gilbert at gilb41@hotmail.com. Entries should be mailed to 119 Castleton Drive, Mooresville, N.C., 28117.
