Erika Lang: 2012 Three Event Skier of the Year

In 2012, Erika was nationally ranked #1 in Overall for Girls 3. That alone is impressive. Erika’s USAWS average trick score puts her on the top of the list by more than 2,500 points. That is amazing. Erika is also the top female Under 18 year old Trick & Overall skier in the world. That is why she is BallOfSpray’s 2012 Three Event Skier of the Year.

A few words about Erika Lang by Ellie Horton 

A large black platform, a strapless mini dress and then, a massive standing backflip…that’s Erika Lang in a nutshell as she makes her mark at the Women’s Sports Foundation Red Carpet Event. This superstar stands out wherever she goes. However, Erika shines brightest when she straps on her hard-shell and clips it into her D3 Honeycomb. Winning countless tournaments in 2012, including Junior U.S. Open and Elite Women Tricks at the PanAm games, and setting multiple pending trick records of over 9,000 points, Erika not only dominates her division, G3, but also has scores compatible to the top women in the world! Erika capped off this season with numerous awards and titles including Waterski Magazine’s, “female junior of the year.” Though this young athlete does indeed sparkle on the water, she is also phenomenal in diving and cheer, not to mention her success in Pet Smart and Piper Pizza commercials, independent films such as The Imposter and Tumbleweed, and Serum, a web series promo. On the outside, Erika resembles an extreme athlete, which no doubt she is, yet, on the inside she is akin to every normal teen girl, and it would not be shocking to find her strolling the mall with friends or getting a pedicure at the spa.
