Wetsuit Selection

So I am looking for a wetsuit now that the water is below 70 here. Ward recommend that I look at triathlete wetsuits , however it seems that many of them are fairly thin, including the one suit that I see recommended the aqua skin WT 50 ($145) at only .5-1mm. Is this warm enough for water to around 55-60 degrees? I probably won't be skiing when it is really cold, but I would like to be a little more comfortable though november.

I highly recommend the o'neil gooru.  You can get shorty with long sleeves or a full wetsuit.  Severall people I ski with have them and all are really happy with them.  Tadd at h2oz can set you up.

I have an aqua skin that I wear in those temperatures.  I do wear only a long sleeve top when the water is in the low 60s though.  The WT-50 keeps me surprisingly dry and is very flexible.

+1 on wt-50, we all use this suit in canada in 50degree water.  almost a dry suit and not restricting at all.

Where is the best place to get the wt-50?

There is a guy on ebay selling them for $50 less then anyone else and has a good selection.

The website for the aqua skins says to order a size larger then normal, have you found this to be correct? I am in the measurements for a XL but WAY over the top weight so I am going to get an XXL i guess.

Anyone try the full suit Camaro, lots of pros wearing them. Not sure thats a sponsorship thing or a performance thing

I use a Jobe wetsuit(shorty style), I was skiing in high 40's water this past weekend and I had no problems at all - I felt comfortable. It was still cold though... I think I paid around $45 on sale at costco a couple years ago... they run around $75 new I think. I'm very happy with this suit.

I weight 230 at 6' and have the XXL.  My only issue is that it is a little tight in the neck but I have an 18" neck.

disland - a few years ago Wade Williams told me that the Camaros were great full suits, light weight, & comfortable.  You could get by with a lighter weight Camaro than an O'Neill.

I didnt think you would need a wetsuit being a canadian transplant. I like the gooru wetsuits. They are very thin and warm. I have not tried the triath suits. I have heard they are hard to fit.

I don't know why everyone says that... If you went to the middle of death valley would you not be hot? Just because I'm from Canada doesn't mean I'm a polar bear!
