@XR6Hurricane...you must be up by the chain of lakes too. It's pretty bad. I have a handful of buddies who have to leave their cars on high ground and canoe to their house...looks like you are in the same situation.

@fu_man I'm nearby but not right there on the river. That was just a picture from a drive by in Fox River Valley Gardens early Friday. I'm in Wauconda and Bangs is up around some people's homes too but nothing like the Chain. To think it was down 30" last year, geez. Heading up over the state line after lunch to go for a ride and look at the Silver Lake area if we can even get near it. Taking the camera.

@XR6Hurricane Yea, we were worried about not being able to get boats out of channels last year because they were too shallow. In fact, one of my buddies had to paddle his MC out of his channel and park it at my place so we could continue skiing. He knew if he waited another day the boat was not going to make it out of the channel to the lake. Now it is flooded everywhere.

Use to go to Bangs every summer as a kid....Sunny Hill Beach. Tons of old school metal slides in the water and the monster J slide. The Blues Brothers was filmed there....where they are driving across the beach with the giant horn speaker on the car..."Tonight is Ladies' Night."

Photos from this afternoon...the backwater flooding in the Silver Lake / Wheatland area is extensively catastrophic. Nothing but water as far as you can see in some places. Probably at least a Fox Lake's worth of surface area that needs to drain out before the river even gets within its banks. Don't worry @Horton, I'm hosting these pics off-site. Pic#1 is near Wheatland and that's a Chevy S-10 up to the door handles. Pic#2 is at Mutiny Boat Club in Antioch. Pic#3 is also taken from Mutiny's parking lot and shows the world famous Blarney Island up to the window sills in the distance. Outdoor dance floor would be under about 3 feet of water.

The mobile homes are on a peninsula behind the channel that leads into the marina...the boats are on their trailers and the ground the trailers are sitting on would normally be a good 4 feet above the water.
