Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted July 2, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted July 2, 2014 Call Jody Seal at Florida inboards or message him on this board. The only hiccups I ran into was having to get new hoses built for the transmission to the cooler (location of the cooler is different than the GT-40), and the fresh water intake hose is a different size, so I had fab a PVC adapter on the strainer. While you're at it, its a good idea to replace the throttle and shift cables. Pretty straightforward, just pay attention to all the "normal" motor installation things and be sure the alignment is precise. All told, its by far the best way to get a "new" boat and well worth the effort. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding

kstateskier
It appears this is becoming a common swap. We need to see more pics, its an intriguing deal!
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted July 3, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted July 3, 2014 I kept the same exhaust. The hoses go straight on the new manifolds. You may want to check for cracks in the muffler though. I have had several that needed to be patched. One more thing - replace all your fuel lines and add a fuel filter at the tank. 16 years is a long time for rubber. Over 600 hrs on the new engine in less than 2 1/2 seasons:) Out with the old, in with the new! Baller Glock Posted July 3, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 3, 2014 Bruce, if you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of that conversion?
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted July 3, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted July 3, 2014 Glock, its around $10k give or take. Total cost largely depends on: How much you can get for the old engine How much you can get for Perfect Pass How much of the install you do yourself or pay someone for the labor Any other parts/labor that you discover need attention along the way Still much cheaper than a couple year old boat with several hundred hours already on it.
