Baller Stevie Boy Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 If I wanted to run a CG Fin on any other ski than a Denali, would you still use the same Denali Numbers that are on their web site to start with or is there a guide that comes with the Fin ? Thank you.
Baller thager Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 I believe in previous posts Denali says to start at your old fin numbers and tweak from there. They have been pretty good about answering questions posted on BOS also.
Baller BraceMaker Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 I used factory numbers but less fin angle on a syndicate Omni

Baller A_B Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 I think it said to run stock numbers but take fun less DFT. .1 or .01. Don't recall.
Baller Zman Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 Yes. Good to start at your standard fin numbers, except about 0.030 further back on DFT. Unless you are on a Radar Vapor, set DFT same as standard, tweak from there. Your first tweak might be a little less length, a little more depth. Some might like a little less wing angle. I didn't feel the need.
Baller Stevie Boy Posted August 16, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 @Zman it says it fits any ski, but the Radar Fin thickness is different to most of the others, does this mean it would be offset ?
Baller Zman Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 @Stevie Boy Yes, the Radar fins are thinner. The CG fin is a very tight fit in the current one-piece Radar fin block, but it will go in. You may need to loosen the 6 fin block mounting screws to help get the CG fin in. Then tighten them back up. I was going to try the older two-piece Radar fin block, but the mounting hole pattern is different.
Baller paul413ski Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 @Stevie Boy type in cg fin and you will find the thread
Baller Ali Posted August 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2020 I use factory numbers on Radar vapor 2020, works great. As @Zman says you may need to loosen 6 screws that hold fin block to ski to get it in. I also found DFT set screw does not touch the fin when I got it set to right spot. Baller Zman Posted August 17, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 17, 2020 Yup, Like @Ali noted, a good bit longer DFT set screw could be handy.
Baller BraceMaker Posted August 17, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 17, 2020 On the HO fin block the counter bore past the threaded dft adjuster was not drilled or tapped. I used a dremel to open that up so the dft could reach factory settings with a cg.
