Anyone know much about the SP Skis out of Cyprus?  He has 3 slalom models now as well as a Trick and Jump skis.

My ski partner / friend / colleague / Senior Worlds King, Genadi Guralia skis on a 68" Bronco to great effect. Bronco is a continuous rocker, deep concave ski. I know Genadi and Savvas Panteli (SP, the owner and designer) have been working on a rendition of the Bronco.
Also, off topic, they have some really cool trick skis

  2. @Horton yep, it's a Syndicate model and it shreds! I have had a lot of success with skier that are in between size of skis. The classic is 65" Omega Max instead of 66" else. Skiers love that little extra width at the front while maintaining the easy turns of a shorter ski.

  3. @scoke haha, I should probably edit to "Open".

Flying into Milan is the best option. Depending on what airline makes sense, you can look into MXP or (with a layover in Europe somewhere) LIN. Pickup from the airport is included, as well as a train station if you are touring around Italy and want to reach our area that way.

If you are interested in specifics feel free to send me a DM

    • September 9-14: three (3) spots for skiers and up to three (3) for non-skiers.

Apologies, after a check with the boss @MiksLuzz, it looks like this is the situation:

    • June 3-8: full
    • September 9-14: three (3) spots for skiers and up to two (2) for non-skiers.

I am lucky to have someone to rein in my excitement :classic_biggrin:

  5. Ballers,

The dates for the 2024 Jolly Clinics are June 3-8 and September 9-14. As a reminder, these are fun weeks combining skiing in the morning with yours truly and tourism in Northern Italy in the afternoon. We have happily hosted a few ballers over the years and it has personally become a time to look forward to for my sister Michela and I.

We didn't promote much this year as we were already booked up early on. However, we had a couple of unexpected cancellations, so I'm happy to share that we have some spots available:

    • June 3-8: one (1) spot for skiers and up to two (2) for non-skiers
    • September 9-14: three (3) spots for skiers and up to three (3) for non-skiers.

The clinic is 6 days long, with four days of combined skiing and tourism, one day of only skiing, and one of only tourism. We tried this extended, 6-days formula last year and it was a major improvement overall.

All in all, it's a good fun week of skiing, tourism, happy hours, and fine dinners.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have below or in private :)

  6. Okay Ballers,

After may challenges, two recordings, my injury, and a busy ski school season, I was finally able to dedicate time to the translation of the dialogue. You can find the premiere below. EP100 will premiere on Friday, December 15ht at 2:30pm EST, 11:30am PST. You can click on the little bell to get notified via your YouTube account once the premiere starts.

I'll be online with dad so if anyone has questions as they watch, ask up :classic_laugh:

  7. @MickeyThompson since @BraceMaker mentioned me here, I feel like I should give you my experience. I started using FM years ago in college for tricks and loved the comfort of it. At the same time, I was looking for a solution for my front foot in slalom. I had a Radar binding for a while but I was using regular laces instead of bungee (stupid idea, don't do it). I spend a bit of time on a Reflex but, apart from how uncomfortable the shell felt, I had a few pre-releases. That was the main point of concert for me, as releasing mid-wakes at 39off on an onside pull is as scary as it gets. I went to EVO and never looked back.

A few notes if you are considering this:

    • If you have an RTP in the back, EVO is a great solution. If you have a rubber binding in the back, EVO is also a good solution. If you use two hard shells, I would not suggest 2 EVO bindings, but more so the quattro.
    • Get the regular top cuff, so just one buckle, just bungee on the shell. It will be safer and since the technique trend has been (correctly) to go for a softer, multidirectional binding (i.e., rubber), plastic tied by bungee is a good compromise.
    • the C section tends to enlarge over time, however you will not pre-release! You will feel a click across the wakes on the side in which the C section has enlarged, and for as scary as it might be, you will not crash across the wakes. My rule of thumb has been to change cuff after 20 releases.
    • If you are in between sizes, go for the smaller one.
    • Heat mold your liner. The shell is extremely comfortable, but molding can make it ever more so.
    • I have heard of a couple of shells exploding, but personally it has never happened to me. The ones I saw were black, and I have almost always bought the white shell. I have never checked with PJ if it is a different plastic compound, but I am sticking to white :D. Also, I add a few extra screws on the bottom when changing shell, so maybe that helps to keep the pressure spread more evenly. I'll send a picture as soon as I get the chance.
    • Get some extra bungee. You can buy it from FM or order it elsewhere. I use a slightly thinner bungee than stock just for personal preference. In the US, I was buying 3/16 here.

    I hope this helps :)

  8. @moman great great ski. I ended up preferring Works 01 this season but I really enjoyed the 02. As you currently ride a VTR, I think you are correct in looking at 02. You'll find a much more stable ride and especially (imho no ski does it as well as 02) immediate connection to the line of the ball.
My favorite numbers on a Large (36mph):

    29 5/8
    6.840
    2.489
    .775

First event Nate has entered and not won in a year and a half or so?

yep. Brando Caruso beat him in the H2H semis. Interestingly, the last time Nate did not win was California Pro am 2021, losing the quarters h2h vs Thomas Degasperi. Trend? :classic_biggrin:
