  1. I don’t know about this one Marcus. Perhaps some video of people implementing this to show us as an example?

The rocker of modern waterskis combined with flex allows the ski to turn while being balanced over the ski….

Shifting weight back on the ski to slow the ski down to initiate the turn is going to be very inefficient as far as I see it. It will load the line prematurely resulting in a potentially compromised position on the ski and result in a lot of speed at the next buoy.

Please elaborate I am thoroughly puzzled by this thought process and I’m not sure it’s the correct way to be thinking about navigating the slalom course.

  2. @georgert I believe he was saying lost the line not inside the line.

He was referring to the line tension between the boat and the skier. Losing the line is when a skier loses that line tension due to excess speed. Faster than the boat in the preturn results in “losing the line” or slack.

  3. @Moffattra it was between the Nautique and Mastercraft. We have had a 196 since 05 and have friends that have been on the Nautique promo team forever. In the end the build quality and brand familiarity pushed us to go with old and reliable.

Had we gone Mastercraft it would have been white and also had the big motor.

  4. @TazyMike28 great to hear you are getting so many sets, jealous!

I would say the biggest thing is listening to your body. You should be able to tell when you are getting fatigued to a point where you are susceptible to a back injury. I'm only 21 years old and have dealt with back issues already. Thanks to a good chiropractor and learning to limit myself when I'm feeling fatigued I have been able to avoid more back issues.

Also, be sure to remember that quantity does not always mean quality. Quality sets far outweigh a large quantity of sub par sets.

  5. Extremely happy with my goal achievement this season. After a terrible tournament season last year, I didn't run 32 in a tournament (6 with no continuation was my best score) despite running it quite a bit in practice. My goal this year was to run 35 in practice or in a tournament.

I ran 32 in every tournament except one spring collegiate tournament. Ran 35 for the first time in practice at the end of July and then ran it for the second time in a tournament last weekend.

Next year's goal is to start running 35 consistently in practice and 50% in tournaments. Also would like to see a tournament score of 3@38.

  6. Broke a handle when I was 15 years old, I noticed that one side of the bridle where it meets the grommet was frayed, asked my dad if it was okay and he said it would be fine. The pass after he said it was fine it broke right before I hit the first wake. Caused a partial release on my front foot and I broke my foot.

Just because you think the equipment is new enough does not always mean it is safe. Inspect and error on the side of caution.

  7. I know everyone is tired of talking about bad pucks but here is another thread about it. Will this puck work for my perfect pass system? The puck failed this weekend and at $150 vs $269 it is a much better deal. After searching the forum I wasn't able to find a definitive answer to see if it will work or not; others have used it for their ZO and it has worked but I know they are different plugs.

    Thanks,

  8. Mid loops are great, the 33.5 loop on my in-tow is a lot of fun and a confidence builder for 35. As @Razorskier1 said, just throw in a 18 inch section where you need it for that extra confidence boost.
  9. For me I try and set up my 4th pass as the pass I may or may not run. I think what is more important than that is starting at a line length or speed where you know you can't miss it, even if you really screw up. Also setting a good pace for the set is key.

I have seen @richarddoane‌ go out at 22 off one round and 32 off another round.

  10. A huge thanks to @GregDavis‌ for letting my friends and I come and ski with him last week while we were in Florida. He even let us pay for our ski rides with some old fashioned manual labor.

Also, his wife brought us snacks while we were skiing which was an added bonus.
