  1. I know I lift my rear heal. I am LFF and ski a RTP now for knee protection. I know from years in sports I always feel much more athletic on my toes. But I would have never expected how easily I took to a RTP. When I pull out I am most definitely on my toes with my heal up and I slide it with each turn I take. I enjoy the freedom I have, and the feel of being mobile on the ski.
  2. Athleticism runs a long way in my family and I feel as though my unusually high level of athleticism has really helped me get into the ski course.

Up until my sophomore year in high school I played soccer and football at the same time with running track in the spring and swimming in the winter. After that I just did the football, swim and track. Ended up just running hurdles at DII level instead of playing football, thought it was gonna be safer.

Back to how I think it relates to water skiing. I have been skiing since I was 5 ish, but not serious until this last year. I found that even though I am still learning proper body position to run cleaner 36mph passes. Good athleticism has provided me a way to find my own unique style when skiing.

The athleticism helps keep skiing fun and keeps me out of some serious crashes, but the skill I have slowly developed for this great sport over the past year should be attributed to muscle memory and applied athleticism. Lastly, all these sports, especially college track, has helped so much for the mental side of skiing.

    Thanks!

  3. @schafer‌ are you running a hard shell or soft shell front?

I am not the best skier out there but I am running into 36mph on my 66 Vapor and I have a Reflex front with a Radar RTP. I love this set up and don't want to change it EVER. I did find with the soft shell front with RTP the ski I tried that on was really squirelly but once I put the hard shell on it was very solid.

I just find being very balanced and on your toes will calm the ski down

  4. When I mounted my GoPro to my ski, I mounted it about 6" from my front binding. Shot some good stuff. Skied about 5 solid days. Then the mount shattered when crossing the wakes. Both the adhesive mount and the clip broke apart. Had the floaty back on though.

The risk is there like stated before. Just use the correct materials.

  5. @swerveit I have that same setup. And I love it. I came OTF this last weekend and didn't hurt one bit and had a clean release. I am young but have had some bad single foot release crashes in my short life. That is why I went with a mono plate system.

On an interesting note, did you screw on ski boot straps? Or are those off a Powershell setup?

  6. I look at the 55's to trigger the pull out

look at 2,4,6 quick when I pull out

pick up the gate, ease my way in when the boat is in the right spot

at that point I know I am through or not and on my way to 1

round 1 I look down the line to the boat and to the boat guides on the pick up

    same for round 2

    Seams to work reasonably well.
