  1. How Much of a skis performance is determined by flex? How do plate bindings limit the performance? Snow ski binding and ski manufacturers have been designing floating systems that allow the ski to flex beneath the boot for some time. Is there anything like that on the waterski horizon? I tnought HO was on the right track with the now discontinued EXO system. Any new innovations in releasable bindings coming along?
  2. I skied " Chantally Lake" near Dufferin on a visit there two summers ago. Very nice site in an old gravel pit, but I heard that maybe the county has tried to shut them down as they were trying to get permits for tournaments. Harald and the gang at T's pond are very accommodating. The site can get wind so check before you drive that far.

  3. On our lake have two identical 2007 LXis that we ski behind. Mine has the eastern factory mini Extreme tower while the other has the west coast addition made by Monster I believe. The other owner got so obsessed with the 22 off bump that she took her Monster tower off. I have skied behind both (34.2 MPH) and could not discern any difference in the wake at any length -22 to -32. I sure can tell the difference if we add another passenger in the boat though.
  4. I just upgraded my 2007 Lxi with Stargazer to Z Box and now the same NO GPS DATA error. Part of the reason I upgraded was I was having issues with the set point engaging when going north through the course, so maybe the puck was already going bad. I did get a few seconds of GPS data when trying to map the course but it went off again. The connections are all good, so I guess I will be waiting till Monday to order a puck. Can't even reliably hand throttle as the GPS speedo reads 00.
  5. Anyone had any luck contacting Miranda's to ski at Los Morros in Santiago. I have tried their contact info from the web page and e:mailing Mirandas directly to no avail. Hoping to get a couple sets in there when I am down in March. Thanks.
  6. I have been doing it all. Winterizing, PP Stargazer, plugs, impeller, heater, grease, etc.till 650hrs now. But, what do I do with an electronic ('07 Indmar Monsoon) when it needs more loving? Must have to take it to someone with a computer analyzer and electronic tune up skills?

  7. -27 degrees celsius here in Banff today...maybe snow skiing will start soon. I want to thank all the Texas skiers who helped extend the season for me and offered so much hospitality: Robbie and Mike and Dave at Princeton Lakes, Mike and Randy at Triple J Ranch, Mark, Kurt and Toni at Aquaplex, Trent, Jack, Brent and Clint at San Marcos River Ranch, and Mike and Bev at Lakes at Timber Cove. You guys rock! Thanks again and I hope I can return the favour if you are ever up this way.
  8. How about mapping the curve of the upper edge of the spray? Moving out-bound with tight line after the edge change results in a slowly rising curve and efficient front foot carved finish gives an even topped long radius top curve to the end of the spray. (Probably needs an efficiency curve map dependent upon line length.)
  9. I had great hospitality from Dave Buchli for a set and could have skied at Lakeside if I had some time to wait. Too bad that double wide sold...I was hoping to take another look at it! Lakeside is a beautiful ski site. There is hospitality everywhere in the ski world if you don't think you have a right to it.
  10. There are two things going on. First, the older skis simply do not turn nor create angle and speed as well as the newer technology, so even if you are new to the sport, then a newer ski will probably help you improve quicker. The second thing happens at the stage where you can tell the difference between different designs/lengths of skis because you are fairly consistent at your starting passes. At this point there is the "quest for perfection" hope that a new or different ski will suddenly give you more bouys and erase all of your bad habits. I just ordered a new ski from Horton, so today I am absolutely certain that I will be that much better next season. (PS: I have a 2013 66" S2 with a custom 5 stage rocker if anyone is interested.)
