  1. The club in Dotsero is very expensive, not sure if you can get in as guest.

The coarse in Green Mtn. Res. was not in yet as of last weekend, usually in early July. May be able to set you up with someone to pull you . I have a old boat, no speed control, I would guess that would not help you much. I ski near Kremmling most weekend mornings. No coarse. about 60 mi from Vail, or about 20 mi if you hike over the Gore Range.

  2. sorry to be slow to reply. Crew member not able to ski since aug. goes in for major surgery Fri. will find out then chance of survival. Made it out labor day weekend with spotter help from different friends on lake. One other day in sept. as other crew member did not want to leave wife alone as she has gotten incapacitated, and weather always seemed to be a crap-shoot on weekends. Worst fall I can remember.

@303Skier Wolford, no course. Tell everyone that asked it is to windy. Usually camp @ green mtn. mid summer & ski course there.

  3. +1 magnetic block heater 10 yrs with temps as low as 15f. will put a blanket on top of engine when real cold ( I'm at 7300ft )

Big concern would be if you have a heater, it will freeze first.

I would not be to concerned if temps above 25f unless it is sustained ( more than just overnight low.)

Have a friend who said if the dogs water bowl skimmed over your o.k. if it is solid your done.

Mechanics light bulb is called rough service bulb.

  4. There is a lot of misconception about fuel. The lower the octane the hotter the burn. The higher the octane #, the more resistance to knocking, pinging ( preignition) That is all a octane # is. Most refiners use ethanol blend to increase octane rating.

All fuels have cleaner additives, no matter the grade.

Computer controlled timing has pretty much eliminated preignition in most engines.

The only thing I use prem. for is my 2 stroke snowmobile & the new ones are now computer controlled & use knock sensors to prevent engine destruction if preignition persist.

  5. R.V. antifreeze will not prevent corrosion, it is made for plastic tanks. I use green anti-freeze & drain & flush in spring, or you can use environment safe anti-freeze like sierra. -38 last winter, no problem. I use a magnetic engine heater when it gets below 25 degrees at night before winterizing. I will also put a blanket over engine to help hold heat. No heater in boat, ( which I could sure use ) but 1 less thing to worry about. Already under 32 degrees here at night.
