  1. I had a stejcraft pro skier a while back. It Had a very forgiving flat wake. The wake at longer line lengths was actually better then the Malibu response I now have. I added perfect pass and used to love skiing behind it. You can pick them up for 25-35k.

  2. Seen that new “lxr” the other day when they were doing the photo shoot! Looks really good in person and from what I seen the interior has had some nice upgrades too! The lxr is a pretty big seller here in aus. Remember a txi here is 80k plus and lxr’s start at 67 so it’s good entry point for people to get into a Malibu.
  3. If you want to keep it Australian then look at stejcraft. It had a great slalom wake especially at slow speeds and was good to wakeboard behind. It wasn’t as well built as the response and had wood stringers but for the money it was fine. Stejcraft still make them but you can pick up a decent 2nd hand one for 25-30k. Just make sure you get the pro skier model so you get a mercruiser 350 with f-n-r.
  4. I went in one on the weekend. The owner complained of slow hole shot but took off really well after maybe 3 seconds of pulling the skier out. He complained the steering felt flighty but that could be fine tuned. Apart from that all good! Personally I thought the Boat felt cheap... it cost him 120k here in aus... I’d expect a lot more for that kind of money.
  5. Thought I'd start this old thread up again instead of starting a new one. I've had zero off in my lxr since new (18 months old). I've only ever ran one puck and never had and issue which we all know is ok to do. So last week it started surging and sure enough the puck had failed. I put a new one in which fixed it but as of tonight it started surging and dropping out again. I went into the diagnostics screen and sure enough this puck had failed too! Tried to clear the code but it's active so it stuffed for sure. Is there any reason for this happening so fast? Or are the pucks just crap?
  6. I know of a lot of course in public water both in Vic and nsw. No one seems to have an issue. Or as above just get a portable course. Put it in and out on the same day and you won't have a problem. There's a few companies in the states that do them or you can make your own. EZ slalom will sell you detailed instructions on how to make one and it will cost half the price of getting one sent over.

  8. I have one and absolutely love it! There's 4 members at our club here in Australia that have them too. A few ski clubs up the east coast have them as club boats....they are really popular here. The local dealer sells more lxr's then txi's!

A friend has an lx with the step over bow and it's a pain. The walk through bow has plenty of room and storage. People say it's still an LX at heart but a few people that have skied behind mine say the wakes are softer? I've only got the 330hp monsoon engine and it has plenty of go. Even if I could afford a new txi I would still buy the lxr.

Go ahead and buy it, you won't regret it.

  9. I really hope CC don't follow the trend as I'd love to get one one day. Good thing for us people here in Australia that don't like the new TXI Malibu is going to continue making the LXR. I think they are stopping it in the US. As for the price side of things you guys are lucky. A current shape txi is mid 80's and an lxr is mid 70s. We struggle to buy a used cc or Malibu for the price you guys pay for a new one. The price of a new Lxr went up 10k in one year. The 3 big brands cost a lot and I don't get how people can afford them but every year I see more of them on the water.
