  1. I see both sides of this and still find myself conflicted about not letting someone ski. An official of the event told him when to be somewhere and not knowing any better he showed up when an official told him. Then the chief judge (doing his job, I get it) tells him he’s out. Maybe it was worth a conversation and a chance for a skier to have a GREAT experience to learn from instead of an experience where he feels further from the sport than ever. @Simpson is one of my best friends and I am very biased here, but I do have to wonder if these types of experiences for new skiers is partially why we continue to have the same old conversations about saving the sport. Need more GREAT experiences with our great sport!
  2. Jim,

You don't really know me nor do I really know you. However, you @aupatking, and several other ballers were on the dock at skiwatch for my first ever tournament. I skied as bad as I possibly could that day and all you and all the guys on the dock did was encourage me to keep hammering and go harder each round. I guess it's my turn to encourage you to keep crushing everything that gets in your way. I do not know you well, but I know you will not give up, you will not go gently into that good night. And you will rage, rage against the dying of the light.. Stay strong and kick cancers @$$!!

  3. @aupatking and I have been trying to figure how to do something similar since he forced me to learn to slalom last summer. I like the three rounds mixed idea. @aupatking you should post pics of the mullet and the rules of the mullet challenge. Also, we should ski behind Ian's 2001 for Old boat rounds.
  4. That VTX is a wild looking beast. Interested to ride one after having owned the VTR. Dave said the VTX is confidence inspiring, that is something that I have always looked for in whatever I was doing. Did quite a bit of riding on road courses on a motorcycle and that was always the feel I was looking for. Didn't always want the fastest feeling setup or bike, but something smooth and confidence inspiring I could concentrate on my riding... Just like my skiing.. Awesome stuff!
  5. I am not much of a skier, but I've been on a 68" V-type R and 68" A3 of late then the 68" ARC-s for a free ski set this afternoon.. Short set, but if I had to use one word to describe the set it would be FAST. If i had more words, I would say things like confidence inspiring, fun, fast and awesome. Look forward to what @Horton has to say as he moves through this review. @aupatking actually rode the other ARC, but I could tell his back was still couched.
