Sailing gloves can work out quite good as an alternative.

Hi Guys
Mofam is the place in Cape Town
New owners so some things are changing a bit.
Ross Stegman is very involved at Mofam and also Waterski Federation for that area.
Landline +27 21 300 0326
Cell +27 83 652 2414, rather WhatsApp him as reception out there is very poor.
+27218468345 This is the number that they are asking to do the bookings thru.

Andrew Stam at Portland Manor Estate in Knysna is also running a small operation where you can get to run the slalom course. http://www.portlandmanor.com/ It is said to not look anything as good as what it may look like in the advertising. Standards have dropped recently and service is very hit and miss. At the end of February we are going to holding a standings list tournament here. I have not been and have been looking forward to going.

Going up to Durban you have 3 sites
Satellite as previously mentioned.
Eric Cornhill at Thornley Ski Farm, who has beautiful facilities, just can be wind effected, so you need to ski early during the day
Landline +27317851874
Cell +27847851874, also poor reception

Then I am Chairman of the Inanda Water Ski Club.
Very basic facilities, 2 slalom courses. Very well protected from the prevailing NE wind.
I can arrange lessons and ski sets at some times, but there is no-one there full time.
Close and accessible to Durban and Umhlanga

We have a small active core of members who can be on the water quite regularly.
Then Cameron Rein on sales@watersportswarehouse.co.za would be good contact for further info on Cape Town and surrounds.
Don Sheads Ski World in Johannesburg is always worth a stop.
Then if you are interested in going to see the new land speed world record attempt at Hakskeen Pan/ Thurst SSC then you need to stop in with the Visser Family at Lake Grappa
Look on Facebook at Waterski Sites South Africa to see what else is going on

Hi All
Anybody know how we are able to log on to watch the ski flying record attempt later.
We are in South Africa, so have no access to the US channels.
If anybody has a Log on protocol to ESPN3 that they are willing to let me sign on with, please e-mail me on wayne@aquatechmarine.co.za

Where can we watch this jump?

I have a mate who will get on a trick ski RFF but slaloms LFF. We did the experiment of swopping feet and it was horrible. I also get the issue of trying to change hands. I am RFF and have tried to change my hands over to the correct LHU. Skied like that for a whole month and did not even begin to feel comfortable, even though that is the way that I jump

Look at the Radar Prime Bindings.
Damn good and the most comfortable around. we have 5 pairs on old jump skis that the kids mess around on

I have a very old 1992 Ski Nautique. Okay it still has the carb, but was having a few issues with perculation (vapour lock), so I fitted an electric pump that comes on as I turn on the ignition, turn it on and leave it on a few seconds before starting refills the carb before you try and crank. Huge difference. Then I plumbed in a deck was pump that gives me a hot shower on board while the engine is running, but through solenoid valves, relays and timer relays have made the pump, pump cold water through the engine on shut down for a minute. That really stops the heat soak.
Most times the engine will just fire straight back up on the key only
