  1. Matt Rini's for sure! Here right now. The first time I came to Matt's was the fall of 2015 and have been coming every spring and fall. My buddy that I go with has been going since 2011. We stay in an area called Storry lake, great central location to Matt and Disney. Lots of restaurants and stores close by. Have a big club house with lazy river, water slides, pool, volleyball courts.... this is our third time at Storry lake.
  2. Have you seen the 200 that Wizard has? It is a bare bones boat and a CB. It is more then what you are looking to spend but a great ski boat. Took me 2 years to find a boat, but I was looking for a Sport 200. There was none in Western Canada, so I was looking North America. Watched Ski it again and only inboards daily, I did eventually find a boat here in Alberta. Will keep an eye out and see if anything comes up. They are out there.
  3. We had a Salus life jacket for our kids when they were little and they defiantly seemed comfortable in it. They also liked swimming in it once they got older. We did not have the one that @blagrata mentioned but I would buy that one if we were in that position again.
  4. Just got a Blackett 1.5 full suit from REI and have skied in it twice now. I love it, felt warm and not restricted. I did ski one set in my dry suit but then got my wet suit and had to try it out. Don't know if I would go back to my dry suit. I am in Central Alberta and the water temp was 7-9C air temp was 18C or so. The forcast does not look all that good for the next few weeks and think the season is done. At night the temp is getting very close to freezing. Not to sure if I will be able to test it out any more.
  5. Look at Floe boat lifts, we have one for our boat and it is great. Easy to adjust to changing water levels and if needed is fairly easy to move with the wheel kit. On our Alberta lake I would say 60% of the lifts and docks are Floe.

  6. Hey all,

Was at the boat show this weekend and had a look at the new VTX and I must say that I was impressed. I feel that Malibu stepped up the fit and finish on this boat. Before this change. A 200V was waaayyy better looking. So the one thing I can't find anywhere yet are reviews on the wake skiing. Does anyone have any first hand experience with skiing behind this boat? I do have some good time behind a 200v just free skiing and we really like the Nautique. Any new feed back to compare these two now that the VTX has been updated?

  7. I have been skiing since I was 5 years old and skiing has always been that thing that can wipe all the stress that I am carrying away with the wake. After years of asking me to come to Flordia, my buddy finely got me to come down to Rini's school this fall and take my skiing to a new level. Skied the course for the first time and have my PB of 3 at 15. Can't remember what speed I was being pulled at? Ever since I have been wanting to get back on the water. Trying to figure out how I can make it back down this spring, this sinking CND is killing us.
  8. Hi all, first time poster here. I just got my copy from Shuswap ski and board and super excited to read this. I have been a long time water skier but now wanting to ski the course. All the questions I have about ski settings will now be understood. This book is very well written, a big round of applause to @skijay for all the hard work put into this. Cool to see this book coming out of Alberta! hope to be able to meet one day.
