  1. Shortline Shores in St Mary's OH planted a very fast growing tree species around their lake. Not certain what species but its bushy with a lot of branches that start low to the ground. Excellent wind block in a short time. It's Dammeyer's lake, not sure if any of the fam or folks who ski with them are ballers but I would assume so.

  2. Anyone have experience/use a floating stlye (accufloat) jump course? I'm considering one for an alternate jump setup location on a lake I ski. This lake is prone to heavy ice movement & in the past the regular anchors & subs have been moved/damaged. The floating cable system would allow the course to lay on the bottom out of harm's way over the winter & easily retrieve it in the spring with grappling hook. Main questions are how do you align it with a permanent jump location? Square it up & keep it from drifting slightly in the wind etc?

  3. Individually they are small but they form colonies & those can get huge. We've had some as big as a small beach balls but most are basketball, watermelon size. Yeah, these things are nasty looking. They are pretty stinky too when you smash them up as you remove them from the objects they are attached to. Apparently you can use a liquid copper sulfate solution to control them, but I haven't looked into the cost. I know copper sulfate can be a problem long term as it settles into the muck/bottom.
  4. Anyone have issues with Bryozoa infestation? The lake I'm on has a terrible problem with these blobs. They grow to the size of basketballs in huge masses/colonies. Covering the slalom buoy connections, ropes, cables etc. It becomes a problem because they get so heavy & they make lines & buoys more prone to wind drag/drift. Looking for something to help control them without harming other aquatic life. They are an animal so aquacides have no affect. Anyone have experience with eliminating them?

  5. Can you start with both feet in? If not I would recommend learning. If you already can then I would kick your foot in on the platform & get it where you need it to start with. I too was a 1 foot out starter most of my life but switched to both feet in starts due to short setups. I also added a rear heel strap made of tire inner tube to keep my rear foot right where it needs to be. Starting with my rear foot in made a big difference in my skiing, more consistent plus its just one less thing on your mind when you are pulling out for the gates on a short setup.
  6. I love that there is a live webcast & I'm very grateful for that but is there a live youtube feed? Makes it so much easier to view on a smart tv that way. Trying to cast the video from a website to a TV is a PITA. At lest for me with an older smart tv & a roku.
  7. I used glidecoat marine specific ceramic last year & I was amazed. It made wiping down & keeping clean all season very easy. No spots. During scummy water times like algae blooms & lake turnovers nothing stuck to the hull. At the end of the season it was as shiny as it was in the spring.
  8. Curious how many people with acl issues use or have used a CTI while slalom skiing. How it feels, protects during a fall etc.

Long story short I'm 4 weeks heal time into an MCL sprain with acl damage as well. Will be doing acl Reconstruction early Oct. Id like to slalom in the meantime. Its my right knee & i'm RFF. The knee feels stable and strong & even more so with the brace. Ive been able to trick, LFF just fine minus the flips.

  9. @skoke is there any "one" thing you can do differently in the gate setup from -28 to -32 that will kinda magically make it click? Or is there quite a difference in the gate setup all together? I too struggle with coming into ball 1 way too fast vs my -28. When I get the -32 gate right & run it I have trouble duplicating what I did right. BTW congrats on the Nats win!
  10. Now that regional's/nationals is over & we are in the 2020 ski year will the new ramp settings be implemented for all E,L & R tournaments? C tournaments if extended ramp is available? i.e for those of us that have already extended our ramps is it time to use the additional length out of water?

Haven't seen anything posted yet from AWSA unless I missed it.
