  1. 2020 has been a major shit sandwich for sure. To people my age, (early 50's) Van Halen was for sure a big part of the soundtrack to my adolescence.

If there's anything positive, it's that there is a new AC/DC song which sounds just like every other AC/DC song. And in 2020, I'm pretty damn cool with that.

  2. +1 for a TRX. There are a ton of mobility exercises which have significantly helped my back, shoulders and hips which you can do in addition to functional strength and core. These workouts have helped at ton for waterskiing and cross country skiing. There are lots of youtube TRX workouts to follow along with. I also like the P90X programs, P90X3 has short high intensity workouts with minimal equipment and can be done in small spaces.
  3. @6balls Both. Up until about 3 weeks ago our market was really taking off on purchases. We're generally a very seasonal market, but it never really slowed a lot this past winter. The nearby Air Force base is getting 2 squadrons of F-35's this year and the demand for housing is huge. There's not enough new construction as costs are high and VA buyer's can only afford so much, so there is less new construction happening than we really need.
  4. I'm a real estate appraiser. With the low mortgage rates, we've got more work than we can handle at the moment with all the refinancing happening. We're considered essential and therefore are working. Here in Fairbanks, AK we are highly dependent on military moves in our market which have been suspended, add to that the pissing match between the Russians and Saudi's on oil production and pricing, our state budget is going to be dismal at best. Always interesting.
  5. I was visiting my sister in south Florida last week and had the opportunity to ski 5 days at Hobe Lake. It was a great experience. Not only are the site and boat first class, but Wim's coaching and Ed's hospitality were first rate as well. Wim got my son through the course for the first time and his coaching style worked very well for me in my attempt to be a real skier. Other major successes were getting my daughter up on skis for the first time and my niece and nephew up on one ski for the first time. They seem genuinely interested in getting more kids skiing and growing the sport in that part of the state. My sister's kids are hooked (much to my sister's chagrin), and I will for sure be back next time I visit. Skiing at Hobe Lake was the high point of a great week.
  6. One summer while in college I took a fall. The ski released, I swam to it, grabbed it and pulled it right into my face breaking one of my front top teeth. Next month I'm getting it fixed again as the pin used to repair it is starting to show through
