I once saw a team Canada dude run a PB with his fin set front to back in his ski....  (he didn't know it was changed)  just saying

SN dumping Jacinta and the whole FWinter fiasco leaves me not wanting to watch anything they sponsor.  just such poor form. Not that boycotting watching the Masters is a tuff decision, the quality of the broadcasting leaves it utterly unwatchable!

Good on MC for stepping up and backing a star and being vocal about supporting skiing!  not just skiing behind their boat

I could be way off but I have to imagine that with a small sport like ours one could likely reach out directly to a coach and ask for video coaching.  by pass the whole Givego and get more funds directly into the coaches and skiers pockets.

@Horton I believe it was UCF.  the following year they lost to Louisiana (they are such a dominant college team) 

John did his 4 years at UCF before heading off to Law School.

he was part of the UCF winning season with overton, cox (among others) and drove home the nationals win with his jumping. they followed up with a nationals appearance the next year, where he won jump but the team fell short of the title. 

(If Im wrong on any of this plz let me know ppl.....  going off old man memory here)

So agree with you @Horton.  he is a personality, great skier, and truly makes the sport "fun" to watch.

just silly...  oddest part of waterskiing, NFL, NBA, MLB all have contracts openly discussed in the public.  even nike, adidas, gatoraid have openly speculated contracts.  always thought this was the silliest part of the waterski comunity

was the issue that the image was low resolution, or that it did not pan quick enough to catch the turn?  will this pan quicker?

and (for argument sakes) if they believe they need to upgrade equipment this year would it not suggest a conclusion that the previous years equipment was faulty?

be steadfast in knowing you were right and take the entry fees and enjoy a trip.  get lots of photos and have your sponsors run an ad saying what I did with my ban week.

I think @thager is just messin' I mean we are mandated to wear a lifejacket with slaloming, helmet while jumping.... I dont think he would call a 12 year old a wimp for electing to wear a helmet while slaloming or a jacket while tricking.... these are choices we make to have the sport become more fun

water is not soft.... speed of the boat as well as the skier, catching an edge etc all compound the potential for trauma and the g's or force. I think its up to the individual. if you want to wear a helmet or have your kids wear a helmet that is great! waiting around for a sport specific helmet is not an option for us. Ask around, look at what others are doing and make a decision based on that. example, it is mandatory to wear a helmet for jump, however, there is no company that makes a waterski jump helmet.
