Nice question, one that many people seem to have, especially those of us "across the pond" where it's not so easy to demo the two.

 

Terry Winter initially suggested the NRG for my weight/height/speed (200lbs/6ft/34mph), and said it's more forgiving, but after watching a video of my skiing said the ION S would probably suit me better because it would help on my offside, where I have some bad habits.

 

Interestingly, on the split screen, it looks to me like he finishes his turns slightly better on the NRG, but as mentioned above, he can ride anything. It would be more useful to see that comparison by less experienced skiers.

Amazing that they have a lifetime warranty! Connelly does seem like a very sturdy ski, much like my old KD 7000 (that I still have) and the 15 year old D3 Custom X that I'm currently riding!

 

The new KD looks really nice (especially with @Horton 's review) but this makes me nervous to go there. I'm tempted most by D3 :smiley:

Fortunately it didn't cause any falls as I noticed it while I was sinking at the end of a pass.

 

Yes I get that skis break but this just seemed so random.

 

I did contact KD Europe and they said it's over a year old so outside the warranty period :-(

@swbca that kinda makes sense but if I understand correctly you're saying there isn't really such a thing as "waiting for the ski to turn". It's more about that at each rope length (taking variables into account for each skier) it's a case of how long do I wait before I pull the handle in or start to lean.

Makes sense what you say but how do you find the balance between turning the ski faster and waiting for the ski to come around?

I actually emailed them and they said it should be available in Europe in a couple of months. B)

 

They seem to have plans to make it available on the Play Store too as there's an Android waiting list

I'm finding that the jump from 28 to 32 off way bigger than from 22 to 28 off and I'm curious to know what you typically find to be this next set of skills that's required.

GiveGo doesn't seem to be available in Europe :disappointed:
