I'm still hoping some enterprising coach or coaches (Rossi and Trent for example) might put together a multi disc DVD instructional package utilizing video, stills, slo-mo, telestrator, side by side,  re-play etc. to visually and graphically illustrate what can frequently be ambiguous and/or confusing when describing 3 dimensional, often simultaneous physical actions and movements in words alone.  DVDs are cheap to produce once the content has been created... far less expensive than books... and the economy of scale is far less advantageous than the printing and binding of books, so short production runs are economically feasible.

I have been active in the horse world long before I took up skiing and there are a great number of equestrian clinicians who have produced just such instructional DVD sets about many different riding disciplines and horsemanship in general.  They have done very well with them because visual learning is so much more effective than the written or spoken word alone.

Sad thing is that if you google greatest female athletes. Her, nor any other female water skier in history of the sport comes up.  Lindsey, Danica and Michelle Kwan are there but not a single female waterskier.  C'mon man give me a friggin break. How many of those ladies won a major professional tournament/event 100 days after giving birth? Maybe Chris Evert? No respect for waterski athletes.

Congratulations Jacinta on a fabulous and wonderful career. I had the pleasure of witnessing every US Masters title you won in person.  Enjoy your retirement young lady and your future induction into the Hall of Fame. You truly are a legend!

  3. How many new boats do we really need a year. Hulls haven’t changed much in 25 years and the boats last a long time. On our lake the most popular ski boat is a bubble butt, which is great unless you’re doing high end tournament skiing and need ZO.  Very narrow segment of the market that needs a new boat at $100k. We now have 25+ years of wood free boats that don’t rot out with fuel injected engines.

If slalom isn’t a spectator sport, explain the crowds at the pro events in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s?

Waterskiing is watched by waterskiers. Back in the 70s 80s and 90s everybody on the lake were waterskiers. Now they’re all wake surfers. The average person doesn’t relate to a private lake with waterskiing.
