  1. There is nothing in the world to beat running my hardest pass. I yell, fist pump and grin like a chimpanzee! That feeling when you drop in knowing you've done it. Just for that moment nothing else in the world matters. Best feeling ever.
  2. @OB1 I tried my first set last night on R style, having been in Powershells since 2011. It felt strange but I ran a few passes at the end of the set. The thing I noticed was that my rear knee is locked in behind my front. I think thats a good thing? I've only done it because I'm scared about injury in thePS's. But do I persevere with the R style & supershell? or go back to my comfy PS's? I know you can get hurt in anything, but another friend just got done by the PS non release. Looks like @horton is on a reflex now as in the Arc review.
  3. I agree with BRY. You can get sticky back sandpaper from a skateboard shop online. Also, I put an extra bolt in the rear boot heel into that small plate, and an extra one under the little toe. The heel lifts but the boot never moves out of position! That said, Powershells are like crack! Not good for you, and once you get used to them, being super comfy, its hard to give em up. I tried the Reflex + R style. Front was ok, but didn't like the rear, but I might have another go after Freddie broke his ankle today.
  4. Four bouy course -its nonsense! I'm watching it live on Webcast TV, the sport I love and one of the most prestigious events reduced to four bouys!! I don't get it. What next US Golf open over 9 holes? The Superbowl on a half size field? I'm not enjoying it and I don't understand why its been done. Make it two bouys next year and I might qualify. Its Saturday night in London, I'm gonna watch Strictly come dancing on TV instead.
  5. Wow - All I can say is... This is the best ski I've ever had! Nothing like the previous Vapors. Its quick and you don't need to turn. Just let it do it's own thing and it will keep getting angle. Plus, I always used to get air at 16m (22off) off the first ramp. Not any more, just slices through the wakes and stays down. No tip rise anywhere with Rini settings. Thanks Radar. MOASS. @Stevie Boy get your wallet out son (and tell me your real name).
  6. I've ordered my Supershell, hoping for arrival this week. I too have come off Powershells this week and gone to a regular Reflex with a soft rear (KD) boot, [rear lace, I leave loose]. I can now flex my back ankle. Its like a different stlye of skiing. With double hards, you ski with your legs as one unit, but with now I feel I ski more with my feet. I'm liking the regular Reflex, lets see what the SS feels like. Last week I had an OTF which did not release in the PS's but should have. Crushed my front foot a bit but luckily not too much.
  7. I tried the size 9's for a weekend. The front boot felt too short, it's my slightly longer foot. I think a half size bigger would have been ok but my foot was cramping and I didn't want a loose fitting boot. So I went back to my Powershells but going to buy the new Reflex shortly with a soft rubber rear boot. I if after 3 sets they still cramp even after heat molding the liners, get something else.
  8. One of the best amateur skiers I know uses Apex's. There is not one binding better than another, its totally personal. Another I know uses Double Wileys. Sure there are lots on reflex's, some feel safer with their release, but I know as many injuries with one type as another. So if they are comfortable and you have no problems, stick with them. Try something new when you get the opportunity; if you want to, but don't think its the Apex's holding you back. If anything new boots take a while to get used to and may or may not improve your game.

  9. Been using PS5's for three years without any issue. Ive got the dual lock right for me. Only one pre release in 3 years and I'm not sure I didn't stuff the tip. But tonight I tried Vapor boots. Similar performance, but the front Vapor is tight on my toes. Will heat mold and stretch tonight. Whats the opinions out there for performance and safety? I'm hoping the softer rear Vapor will improve performance. Skiing into 32off. Or do I just stick with what I know?
  10. Can someone explain what do the numbers do? I thought they determined the rev range, ie whether the revs come on in a short burst (3) or whether they were more drawn out (1). I've switched to A3 recently and like it. Feels like the pull comes on later after the turn. But what exactly do the numbers do?
