  1. Interesting that there isn't more discussion about the Works 02 skis especially with the success of Jamie Bull and Rob Hazelwood on the 02.  I'm a loyal HO skier on the 2022 HO Pro and loving it but motivated to try the Works 02.  Is there anyone out there that has skied the HO Pro and tried the 02 and what are your thoughts?

  2. As much as I would love to watch, I gave up trying.  Now I just go directly to the resulst and then here to hopefully get some commentary.  They could do so much better for what is such a prestigious event.  They make TL and TWBC look like the gold standard of broadcasting

  3. from one perspective I find it nearly impossible to watch the masters due to the low quality of its broadcast and announcers.  I only look at the results from following skiers I personally know skiing and understand how important the event is to them.  Otherwise I wouldn't even pay attention to the event.   It's like Moomba; impossible to watch

  4. So many things wrong with the Moomba broadcast.  I gave up trying to watch, it was so bad.  Don't want criticize too much, but how on earth will it improve unless we give constructive criticism.  Perhaps some of the problem stems with the Australian government and how they shut down the entire country during covid and it's now they are playing catchup.  Some of their regulations are ridiculous such as those silly life vest they're wearing on the dock

  5. I feel Dave Wingerter does a good job of explaining the differences of the new 2023 skis as it is a crowed lineup with many "flavors of ice cream" as he describes. Curious if anyone out there has tried the new Works 1 or 2 yet. I have the Omega now, tried a 2022 Pro and like it better but interested if anyone has feedback to share

  6. All this drama over what? ski ropes? and because @BigSpray gave an opinion/review on the new rope company which happens to be Russell Gay's son. and through this thread ML is getting demonized as well as @BigSpray and called illegitimate? It's been fun to sit back and see all of this drama amongst fellow waterskiers :)

why can't we all get along - funny how quick we all are to pull the Scott Chipman card on @BigSpray LMAO

  7. obviously some of you are content with mediocre broadcasting of a such a Premier and Prestigous event. The broadcast is OK but could improve so much. What is wrong with some constructive criticism. I'm sure all of you receive it from people watching you ski from the boat. Don't you want to see the Masters improve or continue to remain average? Our sport is so small in the world of choices and we need to keep up with the times to stay relevant
  8. They need to come to the future. The broadcast of this event which is considered prestigious is not. The announcing is obnoxious and the webcast is outdated with the camera views and video quality. So hard to watch compared to TWBC on Youtube. And the constant nonstop reading of commercials by Dano. And what about a replay on Jamie Bull's pass where she missed the gate? I don't care how nice a guy Dano is horton. Get a a guy that can call slalom skiing that you can tolerate listening too and don't have to mute
  9. Obviously with slower speed, ski sits lower in water and more drag is created....

    My changes:

    - Switched from Denali C75 to HO Omega. Omega less drag, easier on the body

    - Run wing @ 8 degrees vs 9

    - Took .005 out of depth from factory settings

Otherwise going straight factory settings and all is good. Loving 32 mph

  10. I had the VTX which I got on sale a couple a years ago new for $600. Initially it was ok, but never had any luck with it. If you really want to save time and money demo a ski before buying. I'm on the HO Omega now that I did demo before buying and it is night and day better than the VTX in MHO.
  11. @markn: why would you Hate starting with factory settings? I got the Omega in October and haven't deviated at all from factory except to change the wing from 9 to 8. Standing tall and taking advantage of the sweet spot on the Omega has helped to a 25 year PB. Coming from the Denali C75 that I tried multiple fin and binding adjustments to no avail.
  12. I wanted to add my input about the OMEGA. Was on the Denali C75 for past 2 seasons. This fall the Omega became available for me to try. If skied correctly, this ski is very rewarding. In comparing to the Denali, it's less effort and easier on my body with less back pain. With the Denali I was constantly searching for the perfect binding and fin settings and never really improved and never could get a good consistent onside turn. Literally over 2 years I was changing settings to no avail.

With the Omega I put it at factory settings and have made one minor adjustment taking a tiny bit of tip out to smooth out my offside turn. I'm making more passes now and improved my personal best for the year even with skiing in cold water in December and January. Very happy with the ski!

  13. I was on the dock at the LCQ stop #1 and both Vanessa and Chelsea were super stoked to qualify. All were pulling for Allie Nicholson and she was so so close to qualifying. Hopefully Allie gets it done on the next stop. Great skiing by the women!
