Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic....

Let the sandbagging commence!

They "missed the boat"

I guess the graphic on the back would distinguish it from Kneeboard Nationals.....

Nice try, John. I can't say I'm surprised. This is exactly why I'm doing my own event with my own rules outside of USAWS/AWSA jurisdiction.

Remember, @Horton , strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I believe this has merit - the point is to bring more skiers into the competitive arena (AWSA or not). If we "clear" our minds of the over-regulated competitive environment we currently find ourselves in, we can begin to envision an internet based universe of scores that aren't restricted to a tournament environment but are simply achieved similar to how a golf handicap is achieved; by performance. This would be separate and apart from the AWSA rankings list which is NOT attractive to the majority of skiers (Horton can provide the number of visitors to this site vs. the number of skier who ski tournaments). If the goal is to attract more skiers into a competitive arena, we have to go to where THEY are - not expect them to come to us. I love the exchange of ideas on this topic...figuring out a way to make this happen is a worthwhile endeavor, IMO.

@disland - good luck from someone who has traveled down that road of landmines (turn and burn)...

Getting my new D3 wet!
The new hardshells from HO have my interest. It's almost time to replace my current set up. Going to be hard moving away from Reflex. It's been a very reliable system.
@6balls - BMW M2 for me....

Both events are already half full with several 36mph and 34mph "open" skiers registered. I don't believe they are concerned with IWWF. But if so, we'll use aliases :smiley:

Navigated around using IE and had no issues. Haven't tried my Ipad but it's just a toy - not a computer. Love the search function. Great work!

If your site/club has entertained hosting a record capable tournament, I am selling everything you would need in a turn-key fashion. Two gate cameras (in weather proof enclosures), end course camera (in weather-proof enclosure) latest 4-channel DVR and accessories, water-proof wireless transmitter (with bracket for boat windshield), receivers, high-gain antenna, over 3000' of video cable on two spools, 32" monitor, 4 handheld boat cameras, extra VCR, various connector cables, etc. Everything a site would need to meet the critical requirements of an ELR event. Additionally, I have 6 Goode bubble buoys in good condition along with various tables/chairs that can be added if needed. Cannot ship. Would require pick up in NW Louisiana. Not parting out. Serious inquiries only to:

so you have to me a member of AWSA to comment on tournament topics?
-
No argument - that's abysmal - bad day for sure. There were several issues that contributed. But, that has never been the issue. Scores being erased for ALL skiers (regardless which of the 5 drivers on site pulled them) is the issue. And, pulling scores from the previous day's event? That's the issue. If we applied this same standard to ALL tournaments (including Regionals and Nationals) there would be chaos. What has occurred is the review of one or two passes out of a total of approx. 593 that were pulled that weekend - and then the conclusion that the scores should be erased for all skiers? That's not due process

@skiboat38 - hopefully for most of us, the "sport" and AWSA are mutually exclusive. But, if my business was losing 8-10% of its customer base year over year, I would be focused on ways to bring in more customers and retain the ones that remain - oh, and not giving them a reason to question why they are doing business with me.
