Thanks for the replies. We like the Goode bouys but while our lake is private, it is not a tournament lake. Too many bouys get damaged by Wallies to have expensive bouys out there.

 

I made an adaptor for the hose using a modified garden hose nozzle and an air needle. The needle inserts from the inside of the nozzle so the water pressure can't push it out.

 

Has anyone ever injected water into their turn bouys to get them to sit lower in the water? If so, how much water did you put in?

Skiing tomorrow here in Nor Cal. Water is now in the 50's but at least the air is supposed to make into the low 60's. I'll take cold flat water over warm lumpy water any day.

The problem with the fin that has the lines (markings) for wing angle printed on it is if you change the fin setting (ie. add tip) then the lines are not accurate anymore as you have now changed the lines' angle as related to the bottom of the ski.

 

But as has been stated already. You don't need the wing. I put mine back on every now and then just to remind myself of that fact. I ski 34 mph, working on running a complete 32 off.

I have an old HO Extreme with the fin that has a big notch cut out of the back edge. Been thinking about putting it on my S2 just to see how it skis. Thoughts?

Lake Wildwood, Penn Valley in the Sierra Foothills of Nor Cal. Northeast of Sacramento (north of Auburn, west of Grass Valley). 330 acre private lake with a course. Whether or not you get PP will depend on which boat we are in that day.

The largest I've seen listed is 67.5 which is indicated for skier weight of 190+.

You might try contacting a company like Clean Lakes, Inc. They could probably ID it for you and probably make recommendations for control.

Wish - I didn't change my fin setting at all. Still at stock HO A1 numbers. Removing the wing made the ski accelerate much easier. The only problem that I've had has been the tail letting go if I hit the turn a little hard (when I'm running late). 34/28' off. Going to start working on 32 off and might try a small VW by itself as I really don't want to add the drag of the reg wing back into the mix.

I inherited a beautiful old wood Connelly Hook from a buddy (He had no appreciation of it). It's got a handle pop mark on it but otherwise is pristine. I'm gonna take it through the course once before I refinish it and mount it on the wall in the living room.

Based on Horton's past opinions on wing's and their use by skier's skiing longer line length's and <36 mph, I pulled mine off of my A1 when I got it and very happy I did. Thanks John. My question is this: I have now gotten to the point where I'm skiing 34mph 28 off fairly consistently and want to start working on 32 off. Should I put the standard wing back on or would I be better off with a VW? Try a small VW solo? Or with a reg wing? Thoughts?
