  1. @DW@Horton I ride said brand of ski in photo, and can tell you, although their advertising says "brass" on their inserts - they are not.  I have personally replaced inserts on their ski, and they are some type of pot metal, hence the corrosion with a stainless fastener.  I have even sent a ski in to have the inserts replaced, and one of the new inserts gave out.  After pulling out the bad insert, it revealed that the old insert was not fully removed from the ski prior to putting the new insert in.......if you want it done right......

  2. On the topic of the rolling foam in the sewn-in vest pockets  - I have also wondered why manufacturers do not bond one side of the foam to one side of the vest material prior to sewing it together, so at least the foam will stay in place.  Yea, yea.....the almighty dollar.  But in all truth that is one of my issues with most vest designs.

"cant control what a shipping company does"...what do you think they typically do? I believe basic common sense would apply to the vendor that ships, huh? The handle was damaged, but was usable, and quite frankly, life is too short to deal with the idiots at FedEx (been there, done that). I did contact ML about the issue, and expressed by concern about sending handles in plastic FE bags. I was told to mention it to them the next time I order something, and they will give me a discount (but without any documentation)...so there you go. This is a factual data point, so do with it as you may, but thanks for your advice about doing some research.

  4. Last ML handle I purchased, they just put it in a FedEx plastic envelope and let the worst shipping company on the planet beat the hell out of it all the way to the West Coast. So, we sell handles for $200, but we are too cheap to even put it in a box to protect it for shipping to the customer?
