  1. Hello,

I am 6mo out of an anterior meniscal allograft. Recovery has been great. I lost a lot of strength, however my left knee was never as strong as my right knee as this is my 4th knee surgery on my left knee. 3 ACL's. My question is: I met with my surgeon today and asked him about water skiing this summer. His response was he wouldn't recommend it but its my knee and it would take a major impact to damage the cadaver graph. Obviously the graph will never be as strong as my original meniscus and skiing and other sports that we participate in have this risk of major impact. So How long does a person wait to ski?

  2. So was skiing so of the amazing CO pow on Thursday, hit a stump under the snow and re-tore my ACL…for the 3rd time. I also flipped my meniscus on the toe side of my knee. So subsequently I have no ACL and no meniscus on the toe side of my knee. I had a surgery on friday to remove the meniscus but they haven't done anything with the ACL yet The previous two surgeries on my ACL utilized my patellar tendon on my last surgery and my hamstring tendon on the first surgery. The doc. that did the surgery on Friday to remove the meniscus suggested a bone graph on the knee and then repair the ACL, so it would be at least two surgeries. It would also more then likely cost me waterski season this summer. I am going to meet with a different ortho on Monday. Has anyone had this experience? Are there any questions that I should ask both surgeons? Is anyone aware of any alternative treatments? Thanks for the help.
  3. Hello,

Every summer around this time I get lower back problems from skiing, I think it is from getting up out of the water. I was wondering if anyone has ever had issues and tried a skiing with a back brace like power lifters use? Also I was thinking a wider ski might get me out of the water faster? I have a HO CoX was thinking of trying a Radar Senant or??. Any other advice would be much appreciated.

  4. Since the BlackTec is not available in time for spring is the 2mm speed skin a good second choice? or should I just wait for the blacktec? or is the 2mm titanium shorty a good/better choice than the speed skin?
  5. Has anyone ever cut a wetsuit hood? The reason I am asking is I have a wetsuit hood, it is nice because it helps your head warm, but it messes with my balance due to water/hood over my ear. If I cut out the ears will it continue to tare and rip until the hood is useless?
  6. Hello, I am 6'4"215lbs and am skiing a 69” Coefficient X. I just swiched from a HO CDX. I have noticed since my switch that the Coefficient X takes longer to get me out of the water. It was ok for a while but I am getting a bad back pain in my upper back. I am very new to skiing and this is making skiing not fun. Anyone have any advice/ tips to help? Is there a better ski for a bigger person? I don’t want to buy another ski but I cant work construction with back pain like this. Any advice would be appreciated. I also got my first clean pass through the course this week, so despite the pain it am getting a little better.
