  1. Big thanks to Richard for both goading me into and getting me set up on the C84. As well Adam Cord for being supportive, helpful and insightful. I have been skiing my best ever on the C75 (2019 version), so as common it is rarely the arrow that is the problem. That said these are very fun skis to ride and I highly recommend taking any opportunity you can to give one a rip.
  2. 10 Days in on a 2016, not a lot of sets and some of those on cold water, 57 degrees. Coming off a 2015 Vapor. Current settings on the 2016 are 29 7/8 (radar sequence plate double vapors), 6.949, 2.454, .743, 9 degrees. I had the fin deeper but struggled with onside turn consistency, have had the dft at .748 (onside issues again) and .738 (did not get enough cross course angle). Have had the boots back as well in increments all the way to 29 3/8.

    2015 Vapor was at 29 3/4, 6.877, 2.478, .750, 9. I am 5'10" 185 lbs, 67" ski.

Buoy count have tied PB (2@35' off 34MPH) with the 2016 Vapor (on almost all the settings). But the current settings feel the best, good angle consistent turns (offside has been fine no matter what). Only issue right now is I feel faster than the 2015 so I hesitate/fall to my back foot to slow down.

So question - at the current settings does anyone see anything way out of line? Suggestions on things to try? I do not mind experimenting, part of the fun, would like to get that comfort level where I know what to expect of the ski in all situations - so just me as the variable.

  3. Morning All - My brother and I are hosting 3 INT events over the coming months in the Eastern WA/Northern ID area. This is our inaugural season. Events are as follows:

July 12-13; Hauser Lake, Idaho - Slalom and Wake both days

August 2-3; Sun Basin, Moses Lake, WA - Co-hosted with the WA INT League - 3 rounds of Slalom

August 9-10; Long Lake, Lake Spokane Campground, WA - Slalom and Wake both days

You can PM me, ask in this forum topic, or visit www.intleague.com/idaho for additional information.

Hope to see our local area ballers out there - we think there is a great opportunity to build participation in our sport.

    Cheers,

    Dave

PS Thanks to Horton for allowing me to post this up.

  4. Attached is a video, I am just getting back into skiing, about 3 weeks as of the video date, after a 20 year lay off. Skiing on a 67" Vice, factory settings, I am 5'10", 170lbs. Video is 34 mph 15'off. I am having a blast and skiing very well relative to my 20 year younger self. Would like to try and progress and thus am asking for help on where to start/highest priorities. With this form - I can consistently run 15' and 22's but only have on 28'. Getting tons of slack into 1 at 28', so basically either get only 1 ball for get deep - but basically 95% of the time get 1 ball at 28'.

Certainly, I feel a little too bent at the waist, stay too far back on the ski, and love to bend the knees. All things I think I did 20 years ago as well, though of course no video to prove it. I would like to nip the worst habits in the bud before I reform all the muscle memory. At the moment I feel that I can always get 15' no matter how poor my form by cranking a 2 or 4 ball, and thus the poor form (bad stack position) really catches up to me at 28'. So with a month left in the season in the PNW I would like to get the most bang for my buck - so would you 1) concentrate on stacked position at 15 and 22' even though the penalty of a missed run or ability to ski poorly and still catch up is ever present 2) keep running at 28' where all my form errors get highlighted but with the likely hood that I spend many many passes getting 1 ball, or 3) a different approach all together? Thanks for the help.

  5. Been Skiing the Camaro now for two weeks - Miami Nautique has me in a M, 5'10" 170lbs, 38" Chest (and yes did give them my stats before ordering) According to the vest I should be in a XL. The M seems awfully stretched at the zipper when putting it on dry.... but the floatation is perfect, and when wet even feels snug loose, so in fact fit seems just about right. I am usually just in between a L and a M on most things so I probably could have got the L. Overall happy with the vest and a big improvement over a standard coleman water sports USCG vest. Protection is good as well all the way around the rib cage, no rubbing or chaffing anywhere. I guess if one was happy with their vest the $ are not worth the change to the Camaro. If on the other hand one is the market for a new vest as I was this seems to be a good choice.
  6. The Spokane River would be great for us, about 10 minutes. We have only found consistent availability of a course at Long Lake (aka Lake Spokane) and that is about 45 minutes to launch. Wondering if someone would like to do a boat share/dock share on the Spokane river - I could provide the boat?
  7. Recently back in the area and much more recently back skiing, picked up a 1986 MC and having a great time. My son is enjoying skiing as well, learning quickly and getting addicted to chasing bouys. Just interested to see who else in the area? is an avid Baller?, scoop info on best spots for skiing/course any local clubs? etc.
