Chet, thank you for posting that inspirational story....I needed to hear Lou's story.

Its been 1.5 years since I experienced multiple leg fractures (1 - femur, 3 - tib/fib's,) and a crushed foot (front foot of course)... hopefully one day I will have a life / skiing success story to pass on to my children.

I have had some success by adding some depth and removing some length from factory numbers on the 68" @ 34mph

If a skier thought that if the buoy was high and "unsafe" one would think that a skier would ask for it to be adjusted after his opening pass.

That's a tough one for Stadlbaur as he skied on Wednesday and had to go out cold off the dock at 38 against Parrish who had just skied as last seed.

Lets not forget about Mr. Llewellyn. I have heard the boats are a little soft due to the altitude so the big boys will not have power they have become used to.

I had a very similar problem on a 2000 MC Prostar - Indmar...the engine would back fire randomly when under high load. After alot of time (12 months) and money was wasted in replacing parts....the issue was determined to be the factory flame arrestor.

 

The arrestor's internal baffle was backwards to that of what it should be (our arrestor baffle was in the front half, and the other factory baffle was in the back half, or the other way around as I can remember at this point).

 

Tried a new flame arrestor and the problem was resolved. I guess the original flame arrestor was just one of those factory blems.

@jayski - here till Feb 5th, then back down for the first week in March, and then 2 weeks in April, need to feel the sun once a month!

@Colebrah - there has been a 2014 SN 200 here since late Oct, and there are two more on order.

@rodecon - same coaching staff as last year from what I have seen so far.

Currently skiing at Swiss, and Clint has the site(s) dialed. The ownership change has been positive from what we have seen.

What are the causes of your tears? I assume it was an otf slalom crash?

What type of binding system were you using? Powershells? 250 grit or 400 grit?

In the past I have always gone back in forth between SG GPS and Classic Mode...personally I have always found more consistent skiing, and better results with the classic mode. I was hoping the Z box would have better control with larger serious skiers but that's not the case. So yes, I have never had great control with SG (with skiers over 185 lbs) and I have done several software updates, and tried alot of adjustments including reversing the rpm signal. PP's customer service has been great to-date.

With the zbox, like all PP control systems, the driver still has to drive the boat into the course, the driver has to be smooth, and just feather the system into engagement...if the boat comes in hot, the system will try to slow the boat down, just as the skier pulls through the gates...then the boat will try to speed up at the wrong time (as the skier approaches ball 1).... and the system is out of sync with the skier the entire pass. I think this is the one of the problems that we are having. Normally the smoothest drivers are the better skiers, and its hard to figure out whats happening in the boat when you are at the end of the rope.

I completely agree with DanE's comments....I installed the system last fall on a 2000 SN GT-40, and the system works great for skiers under 180 lbs .. but at 205 lbs the boat "pulls" hard or accelerates into four ball....its brutal. Current Numbers are 13/40/27 with Zbox at 9, (stock numbers are 8/50/31 Zbox 11 for 34 mph) but I will bump the Zbox up to 13 on my next set as per Dan E's comments. We increased the ball 1 times to try to balance the segments but I agree the system needs a software tweak. I shouldn't complain as I was shoveling the snow from my house roof on sunday, and I am skiing NOW!
