Baller_ DW Posted May 30, 2010 Baller_ Share Posted May 30, 2010 Has anybody reset the ECU on a MC 197, Indmar unit, I think this particular boat might have the cats on it but I am not sure? The boat lost intake water flow and set the overheat alarm. Now it is limp mode.  Does anybody know if there is a reset operation similar to a automobile? Baller baja Posted May 30, 2010 Baller Share Posted May 30, 2010 No expertise here so I don't know for sure but I've experienced limp mode once on my 94 MC 205 and once on my 07 Bu RLXi with Catalytics. Both times from impeller failures with less than 50 hours on impeller. Obviously first fix the problem that caused the overheating. If engine now runs at normal temp all should be well, both of mine ran perfectly with no additional effort. If that doesn't do it try disconnecting the battery. Baller_ DW Posted May 30, 2010 Author Baller_ Share Posted May 30, 2010 The obstruction in the cooling system is removed, but still in limp mode. Sounds like your boat reset itself when impeller was changed. I don't think they disconected the battery, that certainly could clear the memory.
