Administrators Horton Posted July 28, 2010 Administrators Posted July 28, 2010 I do not like to report on stuff that is 3rd hand but this is interesting. I heard a story last night about a skier with a dead battery in a ZeroOff boat. I do not know what brand boat. The story goes that he put a quick charge on the boat to start it. Once the boat started the ZO would not work. After calls to everyone they could think of, they finally spoke to someone at ZO who informed them that the ZO unit was now toast. Again I do not know if this is a boat brand or year specific thing or the real details. I was not there. But if I owned a boat with ZO I would not use a quick start charger on it without checking this out. If anyone as more solid info please share. Baller ForrestGump Posted July 28, 2010 Baller Posted July 28, 2010 I've had to jump mine with a quickstarter thanks to leaving the key on all afternoon with the stereo on. No issues.Â
Administrators Horton Posted July 28, 2010 Author Administrators Posted July 28, 2010 I am thinking it could be brand or year specific. Be careful. Old MS Accout Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 It could be where the unit is attached to get its power.
Baller Andre Posted July 28, 2010 Baller Posted July 28, 2010 Maybe, just maybe, the quick charge was accidentedly plugged with reverse polarity for a moment or longer.Electronics don't like that much... My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller LeonL Posted July 29, 2010 Baller Posted July 29, 2010 I would tend to agree with Andre. Polarity was momentarily ignored. Only takes a touch if you do that.
