Administrators Horton Posted August 19, 2010 Administrators Share Posted August 19, 2010 I did a  HO CO-X review this year and am about to write a review of the Connelly V. Like the CO-X the Connelly V has a ridged or "Tile Roof" pattern on the bottom. The short version of the review of the "V" is: for the price, it is the best ski I have ever ridden. Darn thing cost only $349 (blank) and I ran into 38 on it last night.  I am thinking the ridges thing is not a gimmick. The only down side is that after skiing I had a craving for Ruffles. http://bp1.blogger.com/_BfUMw2HkaKs/RxVY7UGxE9I/AAAAAAAAAKs/tIWAp3ZM-cc/s400/ruffles.jpg Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System Drop a dime in the can
HO 410
Is there a bigger purpose to the stepped bottom, or is it simply to get more speed out an otherwise slow/er ski shape and flex?
Baller lottawatta Posted August 19, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2010 Where do I get my hands on one of these? What sizes do they come in. I don't see any technical info on Connelly's website.
Administrators Horton Posted August 19, 2010 Author Administrators Share Posted August 19, 2010 I do not know if they are in shops yet. I am sure more info will come out soon. I think this ski will be a hit. wnourse
Have been skiing the "ladder" as my ski partners call it for a week now.HO Co-SL 67" w/ Franken Fogmans. This ski is legit. Ran my best set of the season this morning (.5 -38) Great turn shape, good speed and carries wide even if you make a mistake. We have then at 599.00 right now ready to ship (shamless plug, Thanks John!)Will@summersetmarine.com
Baller eleeski Posted August 19, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2010 Weren't you making fun of my wallboard texture bottom skis? Or the ridges on my ski? Or my fat skis? Imitation is the sincerest form of flatery. If only I had enough skills to do my skis justice...Eric
h2odawg79
Horton, are either of these a shaped ski or are they both narrow traditional ski's? Poly cores? Thanx!
Baller UWSkier Posted August 19, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2010 The SL version of the CO-X has a PVC core.
Baller Deke Posted August 20, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2010 Do those directional ridges help you go uphill?
Administrators Horton Posted August 20, 2010 Author Administrators Share Posted August 20, 2010 The HO looks like normal high end slalom. The Connelly is just a little wide. I think the Connelly is legal for INT wide ride. kona
"Do those directional ridges help you go uphill?" Funny, over there heads but funny.
Baller jimbrake Posted August 20, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2010 Not over everyone's head, Kona. If your ski doesn't have the ridges you can still slap on some skins.
Baller Chef23 Posted August 20, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2010 I would be very interested in the Connelly if it is legal for INT wide ride. Can you measure it? I have been thinking about a wide ride ski but would wait if there was something interesting coming next year.
Baller Sethro Posted August 20, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2010 I talked to the Connelly rep at the Malibu Open about the new V. He said it is basically the replacement for the F1X, with a slightly narrower tail than the F1X had. It will be available in 69" so I'm hoping to try one some day.
