toothboy
Moving to Alexandria MN this fall. Looking for ski lake, club, or location to put portable course. Current ski partner lives by Garfield. Both of us have boats. Have one portable course. Looking for permanent course.

Baller jdarwin Posted September 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2010 Better hurry - the boat ramp probably has ice on it already!

Baller thager Posted September 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2010 Not yet Joe! I need to squeeze out one more week so I can be ready for the 2011 Baller! Toothboy, Invite I think. Contact Grant Hustad or Hannah. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Grant built the site.
Baller 6balls Posted September 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2010 Here is Grant's email: tell him Dave Ross sent you: grant640@msn.comGreat site, very picturesque area. Skied a 2 day set of 3 round tourneys there in August. Grant and his daughter Hannah/family have homes there, as does Rick Trenary (skis into 39).  The location is very convenient to Alexandria and to Glenwood.
Old MS Accout
Lots of water in that area. The old ski club in the area had a course on Lake Laura and Lake Anderson. Lots of the small cattail surronded lakes are clear water and never have boats on them. Scout around the area and you could easily find some quality water to put a course on. toothboy
Thanks for the input. I have driven around the area with plat map in hand and used GIS. Lake Laura looks great if we can get on. There may be a development started on the north side. The Anderson Lake I found was west of Alex. Even with the high water a course may be a tight fit. Tough to leave my home site. Pickerel lake south of Ottertail City. Deep clean lake. No course permit though as OT county stopped granting them.
