Holy crap Ballers, you gotta see that video of Detrick on his 38 off pass 2 ball on the main page. Watch all the way thru for the super slow-mo and still shots. I can only imagine the drivers surprise...must have been a massive hit on the boat. First shocked he's not down at the ball, then looks like might go out the front, then smokes the pass.

As a less skilled chronic over-killer of 2 and 4 I thought that was great.

I think what amazes me most is that he somehow managed to NOT grossly overpull to 3. To the tiny extent that I can ever hang on to a disaster like that, I always find myself locked in and pulling crazy-long, resulting in way too much speed and usually slacking the heck out of the next buoy.

 

But he somehow gets the right transition point, stands up out of that mess, and gets a proper arc into 3.

 

Pretty impressive.

frickin awesome! The super slo mo and the pictures at the end of the video are awesome. Funny thing is he skis the rest of the pass like a walk in the park.
