Well, gettn to be wetsuit weather in the deep south. And in just a few short quick months the rest of the country. Ok maybe not quick..or short....or few but.... eventually! So how do you care for your wetsuit or dry suit. Cleaning, storing (long/short term), drying, repair..after all there're not cheap. So tips, tricks, ideas, suggestions, thoughts, to better care for these body condoms.

Hang on big, thick wood or plastic hangar (2" thick). Rinse off with clean water every use. Woolite for hand wash a couple of times a season. Rub bar of soap on the zipper a few times a year. Keep away from direct sunlight while drying and storage. Long term storage in plastic tub with Damp Rid.

I've never liked to wear a wetsuit skiing...it takes away a lot of the fun.

Hang to dry away from sunlight. Roll em up and throw them in the empty laundry basket next to the ones holding the life jackets. If they start to smell, wash them with a little baby shampoo and rinse well.

Mine's 15 years old and I just hang it to dry in the basement and there it hangs until it's needed again. Always kept indoors.

There was a saying about putting them away wet..

 

I have washed mine out once in a season and at season end. Have a white slop sink and always amazes me how dirty the water gets when done. I don't ski that much in the cold any more, so just clean at year end. I drape all my wet stuff over a pvc pipe hung in my garage until dry.
