Baller ozski Posted June 17, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 17, 2013 I was lucky enough to ski with Chet in the late 90's a few times, probably one of the best coaches if not the best coach I've ever had. Some interesting stuff in this youtube clip, two wings on the fin, some tidy skiing as well! Makes me feel young!
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted June 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 18, 2013 I started with the small fwd ventral and the large rear ventral on the Nano and currently use that same setup on my Mapple 6.0...It by far gives me the best performance capability on that ski. Current setup is a Carbon Fin with the Fwd Small Ventral at Zero Degrees and Larger Rear Ventral at 7 Degrees, all tips down.
Baller ozski Posted June 18, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted June 18, 2013 So the theory is sound? When you say performance what do you notice without the forward wing?
Baller ForrestGump Posted June 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 18, 2013 @ozski There's a lot of information on here if you search Ventral .

Baller Ed_Johnson Posted June 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 18, 2013 @ozski...The main performance advantage of the front ventral for me, is that it keeps the tip down better off the apex to the hook-up, allowing for better acceleration with more cross course angle. Baller jimbrake Posted June 20, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 20, 2013 Is anyone running double ventrals and double side force enhancers with double hardshells on a Cypress Gardens Lil' Diablo?
Baller KcSwerver Posted June 20, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 20, 2013 They spoke briefly about it but has anyone else had success with a ventral on a 9900
Baller PatM Posted June 20, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 20, 2013 @teammalibu Saw Chet earlier this month and he is still use a ventral on his newer Nano One.
Baller_ Wish Posted June 20, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted June 20, 2013 @jimbrake I run double home brew ventrals, double hard shells but only a single home brew side force enhancer. :) Maybe the other enhancer would have put the ski on the outside of 6 at 38 this morning. Hmmm?
Baller jimbrake Posted June 20, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 20, 2013 @wish. So you were outside 5, but not 6? Couldn't you at least get the 1/4? I run double white rubber toe straps and there are no holes in my plastic fin. Double handles too to take up the slack. My best is 3 at 25 off at 38 mph.
