Moggie
Hi Ballers I pinged the handle against my ski at the weekend and chipped the side of it. It doesn’t look like much but I can suck air from the core so it needs to be sealed. I live in Australia so sending it Radar to fix isn’t practical. What do people recommend I use? I was planning to just use a resin or strong glue to seal it up.
Baller ForrestGump Posted November 4, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 4, 2013 No biggee. Use a utility knife or dremel to open up the sidewall. Use masking tape to mask off the area and top sheet. You can then use Marinetex or a similar marine rated epoxy resin to fill the void. Fill it, level it before it sets, then you can lightly sand. It will be almost invisible. Baller_ Wish Posted November 4, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted November 4, 2013 Have used this to great success on a beat up surfboard. Very very easy to use and rather immediate results. They have several products. . .
Administrators Horton Posted November 4, 2013 Administrators Share Posted November 4, 2013 One note. You do not want to use the cheap 5 or 10 minute epoxy from the hardware store. JB Weld or Marine- tex would be way better. http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/stock-work-finishing/stock-bedding-adhesives/14-oz-gray-marine-tex-sku904303114-13212-32237.aspx?mc_id=12000&ch=csh&gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c187_a_7c7313_a_7c904303114_d_904301002_d_11415 Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System Drop a dime in the can

Baller A_B Posted November 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 5, 2013 If you use white marine tex, it is easier to use a magic marker to closely match your ski color. I have only seen JB in black in my area, but have bought white marine tex.
