Baller elr Posted July 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 15, 2014 My interpretation of the rules says Thursday 7/17 but the Ranking List says 7/22 and other dates are out.
Baller ForrestGump Posted July 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 15, 2014 I thought it was Monday 3 weeks prior, which Would make it 7/21.
Baller elr Posted July 16, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted July 16, 2014 Well I got Thursday 7/17 by interpreting the following rule book language "Ranking List Qualifications: a skier may qualify for the National Tournament in any event or overall by being ranked Level 8 at the Cutoff Date, which is 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time on the Thursday three weeks prior to the Thursday immediately before the start of the National Tournament. The rankings average of the last ranked skier in level 8 at that time will be considered the Level 8 Cut Off Average for that event and division (See Ranking List Section of Website for specific details)." But I can't find any place to confirm.

Baller Kelvin Posted July 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2014 That's why we are doing an ELR tournament this weekend. It can be an LCQ for nationals. We would love to have you join us.
Baller jcamp Posted July 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2014 I believe class C tournaments count for the cutoff score as well. That was a new rule as of last year.
Baller elr Posted July 16, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted July 16, 2014 @Kelvin - thanks and great planning, if we weren't out of town we would be there!
Baller Kelvin Posted July 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2014 @jcamp I was remembering the original rule. There was a ranking list system issue that first year and all tournaments Class C and above were factored into the LCQ calculations. After that, it was easier to change the rule than it was to fix the system.
klindy
The official COA date is 7/17 (tomorrow) at 3:00am Eastern time.
Baller BlueSki Posted July 19, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 19, 2014 So if a skiers posts a score this weekend that gets their average above the cutoff, they can still get in?
klindy
Yes and you'll have to ski your regionals to qualify.

Baller jcamp Posted July 22, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2014 Even if you don't get the score you need at or before your regionals, if you get that score at any tournament prior to nationals and qualify, as long as you skied your regionals. In other words, you could get that score AFTER regionals and as long as you skied in it you'd be in. Easy, right?
Baller Marco Posted July 22, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2014 Yep. The way I read it, you don't even need to raise your ranking to level 8. You just need to equal or exceed the COA in a class C or above tournament between the cut off date and Nat's.
klindy
@Marco correct.
