Baller JC McCavit Posted January 3, 2015 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2015 I need to replace my swing up trailer jack. The current model is a Shelby 1200 lb. I would like to replace it with a 1500 lb. jack. The mounting bracket looks different from the ones on Amazon. Any one have a suggestion or can recommend a model with the same bracket. (see pictures) This is on a 1997 DHM trailer that likely came from West Coast Correct Craft.
Baller ski4xtc Posted January 3, 2015 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2015 @JC_McCavit have you looked at the Shelby 1500 lb at Overton's? It looks close. Here it is on Shelby's website. They do not list a conversion model from yours but still might want to try contacting them. http://shelbyindustries.com/1500-swivel-jack-diamond-wheel-grease-fitting-bolton-zinc-boxed-p-187.html
Baller JC McCavit Posted January 3, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted January 3, 2015 The mounting bracket is different. The one in Overton's is designed to bolt on with brackets. The one I have just has a bigger round hole in the middle used to bolt it to the trailer and the mounting plate is flat with no smaller bolt holes so it can rotate. Baller 96SNEFI Posted January 4, 2015 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2015 I wrote a long story over here: my external link write-up if tl:dr then Shelby 5850 worked for me. More details in the post obviously.
Baller JC McCavit Posted January 4, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted January 4, 2015 @86NEFI - That answers all my questions, thanks.
Baller Rivvy Posted January 5, 2015 Baller Share Posted January 5, 2015 Unbolt and ditch old and buy a heavy duty Fulton. You will never look back.
