Baller Waternut Posted September 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 29, 2015 For a couple hundred dollars, I think I can get a new ski over a used or demo ski. I ski 34mph and get into 32off probably 75% of my sets and 35off maybe 30% of my sets. At my skill level, would I really benefit from a new ski or is a used or demo plenty for where I am at the moment?
Baller aupatking Posted September 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 29, 2015 With SIA you can find low set number skis all over the place. I buy new only for warranty, which I've never needed to use, even on used skis. Is it worth an extra $400-$500 to have a warranty? If I'm dropping near $1000, yeah, to me it is. But I've got some screaming deals off SIA and never had a problem with the ski. Demo/Used or new, the only difference I've found is risk. Well that and buying new is direct support of our industry. Administrators Horton Posted September 29, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 29, 2015 @Waternut you are skiing at a level where the little stuff is beginning to really matter. There is nothing wrong with used but how used makes a difference. The right ski is worth whatever it costs. A ski that holds you back sucks no matter what you pay. Baller A_B Posted September 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 29, 2015 Demo/try/borrow every ski you can get on, beg borrow or steal the one that you find your mojo on. New used, whatever..
