Eci boom clamp help

The grip on the inside of the clamp is peeling up so it will not slide down on boom.

 

Thoughts/advice on fixing this??

 

I plan to get a barefoot international boom when I get a new boat. Just need to get this clamp fixed to hold me over.

Had the same issue.

Peeled the old tape off and put some new tape inside the clamp.

(Had some leftover piece of a step pad that I could use.)

Holds up since 4 years now.

There are many available but stay away from the ones that use sand like grit in the compound as it will scratch the anodizing on the pylon when sliding it up and down.
