Moffattra
I just love the waterski stuff that pops up on CL... gotta have it!

Baller Bill22 Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 Those purple bindings are worth $400 each... lol :D
Baller_ MISkier Posted June 25, 2018 Baller_ Share Posted June 25, 2018 This is the part of the ad that I like: “It's made out of fiberglass not that cheap plastic junk.” Which skis are made out of plastic? And, what type? HDPE? The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller scorban2 Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 Most all of the new combos are plastic with a fiberglass top (i.e. HO blast). Not aware of a single plastic slalom ski, unless you're talking about core material of course.
Baller dchristman Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 @FWinter backed out, @horton . It's still available, but I'm not going to let it go without the binding.
Baller Taperflex Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 The original S-wing, no, wait, it's upside down, or maybe rightside up....
Baller Nando Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 Craigslist has some treasures- local guy here has a Torque wood ski that looks brand new posted. Oddly, in his photo, the adjustable heel is mounted backwards. Problem is, he wants $350,which seems steep- time to try the lowball...
Baller 6balls Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 Paid big money for it..eh? One-owner ski? Late 80's perhaps even new back then with dbl bindings maybe just maybe but probably not even $300 as a new ski??? I'm glad it's not made of plastic, or rubber, or plexiglass. Geez. Baller dave2ball Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 That was a great ski back in the day. Love the day glow
Baller KRoundy Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 I remember all the Jobe ads talking about that "Spectra" material. I bet this ski wasn't $400 back in 1990...
Baller aupatking Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 Where is Poultney? My first “tournament ski” was that exact 1600, but maybe in a 64. Even wanting it for nostalgia, an old slalom ski is worth $50, max. I actually do really want it, but there’s zero chance of me paying that much, and the boots would never fit, so I’d still be looking for those too. I love it when they act like it’s current, cutting edge tech. That ski is, at absolute newest, 1992. I’m so glad there have been no technological breakthroughs in the last 26 years
Baller dchristman Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 @aupatking but, but,... the boots are worth $400. @bill22 said so. And mine is in better shape than the ones on that Spectra. I value my offering at $2499.
Baller thager Posted June 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 25, 2018 Some awesome buys on Evil Pay also, I especially love the new or reconditioned polyform water ski slalom balls for $20 plus per ball not including shipping!
ShaunT
Jobe had the brightest skis back then lol

Baller aupatking Posted June 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2018 Most awesome CL ad I’ve seen lately was for the “02 196 I picked up last Thursday for $8k. There’s also a pretty sweet “84-“85 HO Mach one for $150 down here the guy has had posted for about 2 years. I’m mostly impressed with his tenacity, at this point. Baller aspski Posted June 28, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2018 I found this one to be quite funny. What is this, a 20+ year old ski? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-water-sport/calgary/ho-waterski/1350463282?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true Asking $525 is hilarious. Maybe worth $100. You could almost buy a new ski for that!
Baller UWSkier Posted June 28, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2018 @skibrain I know there are loads of people who say the pros can ski on anything... but I'd pay money to go see them try the course on the LARRY UP!
