I would recommend watching all the videos you can find from Terry Winter and Seth Stisher.

Wake crossing position is the more important thing in slalom skiing in my opinion...

Good luck and welcome to BOS!

My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!

Some have already alluded to the common mistakes that new skiers make. Possibly the biggest one is fearing the wake so that you bend at the waist, drop your hips and butt behind you, and cross the wake on a flat ski. I’ve seen so many that can pull on edge once they are on one side of the wake or the other, but completely abandon it and almost crouch to cross the wake.

Get rid of that fear and attack that wake in a good position.

Pull through the wake, with your arms straight, your ski on edge, leaning away from the boat, and without bending at the waist. Absorb the shock of the wake, but that doesn’t mean cross it in a sitting position.

The Seth Stisher mini whip videos on YouTube are a good place to start.

The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
