Prostar2010
I need to replace my original cover, sealing it didn’t take, but I have run into no-go with Westland, Carver, and Taylor Made. I have tried calling (always a busy signal) and emailing MC but have gotten no reply. I’d prefer to not get a universal cover and have it worked or go with a custom cover. Are the different years that significant that the cover wouldn’t work? How much did the MC 197’s change from 2003-2010? Since the covers are made to order and are not returnable, I’d like to get this right. Any help is appreciated.
Baller Broussard Posted September 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2018 The hull shape remained the same, so you shouldn't have issues with fit. There were minor changes to the covers over those years but it shouldn't make a difference. The only issue would be if your boat has a tower on it, tower designs changed over the years, and thus the covers for boats with towers changed. . Joeprunc
I got a custom cover from this company, and really like the product. My boat sits on a hoist 99% of its life and I installed a "custom tower". skiboatcovers.com/index.php?route=common/home http://s47.photobucket.com/user/joeprunc/media/29157C5B-9175-4E31-8557-D4EA3DA1CC89_zpsir94sqbr.jpg.html

Baller Bdecker Posted September 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2018 Tumacs! Call Skip Dunlap at 863-605-0340. I put one on my 05 197 this year. Works awesome, goes on easy. It is not sunbrella but sheds water way better than the original. $495 and Skip assured me that if I thought it wasn’t worth the cost he’d take it back. Baller Bdecker Posted September 15, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 15, 2018 Here is a pic of the tumacs on the 197- Bimini folded back. There are more poles but this works great for light rain or less. My teak platform has never looked so good in September.
Baller ToddA Posted September 15, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 15, 2018 @Prostar2010 I would call Dave @ Hoglunds. He purchased Rankin Covers (now, called Craft Covers) and has all the templates for custom Sunbrella covers. I had him make our cover for our 1999 SN, and it is awesome! Baller ToddA Posted September 15, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 15, 2018 @Prostar2010 with the Craft Cover, It is a towable cover, and I have needed absolutely no support poles to keep it from puddling water. Sheds water like a duck! :). Dave and his crew are top notch, and will take care of you and support their product.

Baller epnault Posted September 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 25, 2018 Based on the year of your boat you could still order the factory cover from the dealer.

Baller BuoyChaser Posted September 26, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2018 Best cover around made custom without need for snaps, poles or supports. Drawstring right and will be waterproof and breathable. Better than a factory cover as I have owned two and always encourage friends to get the same http://www.skiboatcovers.com
