Vapor vs evo

My 13 year old daughter skis on. 2016 63.5” vapor. She is 105 lbs and 5’6”. She’s close to running her 28off/32mph pass. Back when she was 10 and much smaller she tried a 62”d3 arc and struggled to run her opener after several sets on it. Fast forward and she sees many if not most of the top girls on an evo and wants to try one. If I go for that how long should be try it out before she decides if it is working for her or not. I don’t think her ski is holding her back or that a new one will have some immediate improvement but I’m open to letting her try something else. Suggestions?

I suggest a 65” ski. It will turn fine and offer much more support and stability through the wakes. Radar and Evo are both excellent choices. I will attach the podium pic from G2 Nationals. You will see that both skis are represented, as are Goode and HO. Connellys were also prevalent on the starting dock. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the skis, but my strong recommendation is for a 65” ski.

For reference, my 13yr old daughter is 5’-7”, 120lbs, skis on a 65” Radar, and runs into 32 off. She is the one holding a Radar in the pic.

Its typically a good thing to try new skis even for kids. D3 has an excellent demo program. For most skiers, they will know within the first set or 2 if the new ski is better or not than current ski. If she’s not in love with it after 3 sets put it back in the box.

If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
