Baller jimbrake Posted January 17, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted January 17, 2020 @ToddF - What I like about that pic is the distance between the top of the pole and the bar. Probably a 16'+ pole? About 4+ feet short of the bar (including the depth of the box)? That is a HIGH bar. 19' something?
Baller DanE Posted January 17, 2020 Baller Share Posted January 17, 2020 @jimbrake Agree Mikaela stands a good chance of surpassing Stenmark. Keep in mind the FIS changed the rules to keep Stenmark from winning the total WC. He would have won 7 consecutive total WC instead of 3 without the rule change, the change in rules were withdrawn after he retired. Takes a lot to break his record though, he never missed a tournament in his entire career, podiumed 2/3 of his starts and won 1/3 (approximately). Lindsey came close but no cigar. Baller_ DW Posted January 17, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted January 17, 2020 @DanE - the unfortunate thing about 'breaking records' in today's environment is the continuous changing of the rules / formats. Examples include expanding the playoff eligible teams, increasing the number of games and as you note rules changes to provide more opportunity to rack up statistics. Current athletes are clearly awesome in their own right and the best are fun to watch.

Baller BCM Posted January 27, 2020 Baller Share Posted January 27, 2020 Danny Hart's 2011 World Championship run in the rain in Champery Switzerland. The announcers are almost as good as the bike riding. @DW - it takes a whole different level of mental toughness to compete at that level for that many days

Baller cougfan Posted January 28, 2020 Baller Share Posted January 28, 2020 @jimbrake the passing of Kobe Bryant is truly tragic. I was reading about the accident and came across this information about some of the other victims. Orange Coast College head baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife Keri and 13 year old daughter Alyssa who was a teammate of Kobe’s daughter Gianna. John Altobelli was the baseball coach at Orange Coast College for 27 years and posted a record of 705-478-4. He led the team to 4 state titles. He touched hundreds of young men’s lives and will be missed greatly. Just didn’t want his tragic death to be lost in all of this without a mention of what a great man he was. My prayers go out to all those who lost their lives and their families left grieving them
