Baller unksskis Posted June 1, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 1, 2020 That's his submission for the Waterski Nation trick contest. The competition format improves the attractiveness of tricking, allows for unique and creative runs. https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/23385/new-age-innovative-tricking
Baller_ Chet Posted June 2, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted June 2, 2020 That is a cool surface ski line 5 back. He is so good and so fluid when he skis. Nice watching the youth of our sport show how much fun this game is. Nice young man and a great family.

Baller unksskis Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 @Chet and @Horton should they not be for credit?
Baller klindy Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 @unksskis They could be submitted for inclusion on the list, not sure if they every have been before - same with the "surface flip". Wildly cool looking trick and frankly looks easier off the surface than off the wake. The timing on the wake is critical for credit/no credit. Dorien really does the rotation well and the rope is clearly out of the water. Helps to have cat like reflexes it seems!
Baller unksskis Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 Thanks @klindy , hopefully they are submitted if the skiers desire. Looking easier doesn't always mean it is, I'd leave it up to those doing them for that. The timing of the wake is obviously important for flips, but you can't really get a NC on a flip, even when it is one wake.
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted June 2, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted June 2, 2020 I like the grabs that he adds on some, very slick
Baller klindy Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 @unksskis Agreed that just because it looks easier, that it really is easier. In terms of NC on a flip, I'd disagree. Especially some of the advanced flips, it's quite possible to get a NC.
Baller UCFskier Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 have to agree... very cool.
Baller unksskis Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 @klindy not related to the wake, rotation and spin related yes, but tough to get a NC flip due to no air, too early, or landing short. Please clarify if I am incorrect.
Baller klindy Posted June 2, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 2, 2020 @unksskis gotcha. Probably true. If you took off too early you'd likely never get the rotation - unless your Dorien Llewellyn obviously!

Members brettmainer
Is there anyone else who tricks with a different foot forward than they slalom with? It seems that this would be healthy for the back and hips, but would require an ambidextrous athletic ability that very few have.
