Florida Free Ski Recommendations

Getting too old and beat-up to be chasing balls any longer. But still love to free ski, on a big lazy river in Ontario daily that let's me get 30 - 40 turns in before it's my partners turn.

Anyway, looking for a weeks vaca in Florida late October this year, any recommendations for ski schools with long lakes where you can link 20-30 turns before you have to drop. Need a ski school as don't want to drag the boat down for 5 days of skiing. All recommendations appreciated, thanks

The Boarding School east of Orlando can let you ski lake 1 and then lake 2 in one shot. Then drop and come back. Great folks there. Freddie Winter will be your coach then.

@dvskier You can go into Lake 3 and then spin and come back.

 

@Badger The only ski schools that are not on purpose built lakes are Jodi Fisher’s and Lucky Lowe’s. Lucky’s is considerably bigger and you can probably rip 20 turns from one side to the other.

 

I live on a “75 turn lake” in Orlando. If you look me up, I’ll give you an early morning pull.

@lpskier I knew that lake 3 existed but I’ve never seen anyone use it. Thanks for the info, I’ll keep that in mind.

@dvskier it is usually used by the wake boarders, but we trick in it all the time. 1-2-3-2-1 spin in the dock bay, 1-2-3-2-1

Florida Ski School /Frank Despoyaux operates on a chain of lakes in the Orlando area. If you find a good time during week with little boat traffic you can ski as long a straight line as you want. Florida Ski School
