I put in some sentient last fall while the water level was low. That stuff kept our water a nice torquoise color through fall and into winter. And that was only a gallon of coloring. Your results may vary - but I love this stuff.

Thanks! So what is the ideal dosage for Sentient? Really effective for weed control? We redid the bottom of our lake and, with the pandemic, grass carps are scarse where we live. So looking at alternatives.

We use mako high concentrate made by new tech bio. Around $300 for three gallons which treated 12 acres 5-7’ deep. Haven’t had to add any in eight months

I use the Milliken Mirage. I do two parts blue and one part black. add it as I think I need it. as my lake color has changed in the last couple years it's kind of a challenge to find out what the right look is. bottom line is keep the sunlight off the bottom of the lake.

We use Sensient from Indylake too. The grass carp alone were losing the battle. Started adding 10 gal of blue and two gal of black every year 5 years ago. Have had zero weed problems since. Annual cost is around $1,150.
